Sounding like he'll remain at Essendon now. That's a shame.

Wouldn’t say I was a Fiorini expert - but is older, built a little more solid and probably more potential as an additional mid. Not really sure Poulter has shown enough to command a spot on our wing and if not there not sure where else he could/would play.

I reckon a straight swap would be fine - however if we end up keeping Poulter I’d be fine with that also. Be good to see him do well, just feels like he’s well down the pecking order.

Collingwood have tried to learn from their mistakes regarding the 2020 trade period.

Some learnings from that trade period was that the messaging to the public wasn't consistent, it was all over the shop.

You will have noticed the following being implemented:

- No one doing media between the start and end of the trade period unless we are contractually obliged to, and when we do it is Graham Wright only. (No president, No Coach, etc)

- Leaking only what we want to be out in the public through to The Age and through to the Collingwood people at The Age (Gleeson, Niall and Ryan).

Good observations. This is one time of the year where the less is said the better.

This year goes to show how much Ed [bless him, his best was pretty darn beneficial] used the Pies as a platform for his own career. How nice it is not having a president in the news every week.
Get back on top.

Times and circumstances change Cam. At that time, Collingwood benefited from having a President with influence around sponsorship deals and business acumen. Kevin Rose tried valiantly but it was just not enough to make Collingwood relevant again and stand up to the AFL on certain matters. He was monumental in creating a very strong environment at Collingwood that ensured that the club was not a pushover. He woke up a sleeping giant. This was a critical period.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

How is that a rumour? What, if any, source does this come from?

While we'd take any of those, you might as well throw in another half-dozen names.

De Goey had a 7 year 7 million dollar contract on the table from St Kilda.

He instead chose to remain a pie @ 5 X 800-850,

The series of media contracts he had ending and not being renewed would indicate the same...

So basically there's a chance Buckley returns to coach Collingwood in 2033. He'll be 61.

I hear from a reliable source that we are looking to trade up the draft, but the source wouldn't tell me for whom.

There's not much value outside the first round as these are the really covid-effected generation.
