Does anyone know how Dave's doing after his dad passed away? I haven't seen him on here much.

Just found out a good work mate lost his younger brother in a car accident this morning. Poor bloke was on-site doing night shift when he got a phone call. Flying out of Newman (120km away) on a commercial flight.
Really nice bloke and was always talking about his brother.

Well we always have Grand Final day at my house, bbq, snacks and drinks. This year was no different until my son not knowing what was about to occur he showed my Sister an old letter from our Uncle who we stayed at nearly every school holidays. This triggered her and she came to me asked me if I was molested by him like she was. This then opened up the floodgates and all our secrets came out, the bastard got to all of us (another sister and brother). This was nearly 40 years ago but still causes nightmares. It looks like he molested her during the day and me at night.
We have all got together and finally spoke openly with each other about it and somehow we have manged to cope. With me my brain blocked out as much of the nighttime as it could and enjoyed the day. My sister worked the other way. My other sister and brother didn't get as much attention as us fortunately. Now this has come out my wife and sons have all the info and are helping us cope.
Sorry for the long rant, love to all.

Geezus,

Thanks for sharing, hope all goes well. Don't feel you need to cope on your own, there's plenty of counselling services available, sometimes it's as simple as learning some coping strategies.

Thanks all, I'm not sure what my next path is as yet. I never wanted this to come out and I feel that I have let a lot of people down as i should have done something earlier. My family I should have told and hope I haven't lost their trust. They won't say that but there must be doubts.
We have never kept things from each other and I have brought them up that way.
I still believe that I am a very lucky man and I also had at most times a good and enjoyable childhood.
Cheers big ears
