Is it usual for the reserves to play at a different venue to the seniors?

No, not normally, but as Geelong doesn't have a reserves yeam, this is one of the anomalies of the VFL. The following week, the seniors play in Tassie whilst the reserves play Sandringham at Burbank. Incidentally, I hope to be able to call the Tassie game in the chat room.

A couple of weeks ago the situation occurred when the seniors had the bye, but the reserves had to travel to Ballarat to play the Roosters.

A bit confusing for the supporters though. Although this weekend it does mean that if people can't get across to Williamstown they may be able to see the reserves at Punt Rd.

I'm sure the reserves players would love to have the supporters there. They should also get to see the likes of Brent Hall, Zane Leonard and Dean Benson in action, not to mention the Williamstown listed players like Kane McKenzie (exciting prospect), Aaron Ramsay (trained with CFC rookies), Jeremy Dukes (tough as teak), Salesi Uhi and Matthew Cape.

Obviously, I'll be at the senior game so if anyone does go to the reserves game, I'd be interested to read the match reports.

Has Brent Hall played a senior VFL match yet or has been been in the reserves?

Brent was named on the extended bench for the Bullants game, but ran out for the reserves.

He has yet to make his senior debut.

More match day info:

The Seagulls take on the Geelong on Sunday May 23 at Burbank Oval. Judge G.D. Lewis, former county court judge and Senior Code of Behaviour Commissioner for Cricket Australia will be the guest speaker at the President's Luncheon.

The Seagulls showed plenty of spirit against the Northern Bullants to win despite trailing at three-quarter time. Luke Jarrad continues his impressive form, Brad Lloyd and Sam Cranage returned to career best form whilst youngsters Terry Knight, Julian Rowe, Brayden and Heath Shaw, Heath Lawry, Brendon Hollow and Clinton Proctor continue to impress.

The Western Jets will play the curtain raiser match against the Oakleigh Chargers. The Western Jets are the breeding ground for current Williamstown players Luke Jarrad, Kane McKenzie, Matthew Pearce, Matthew Cape, Joe Laverde and Anthony Chiu. We call on all Williamstown supporters to get behind the Jets this Sunday.

The reserves will play Coburg Tigers at Punt Road oval on Sunday. The match will start at 11:10am and those unable to make it to Burbank Oval are encouraged to head down to Punt Road to support the reserves.

The President's Luncheon will be a great event with the very funny Judge G.D. Lewis as the guest speaker. Judge G.D. Lewis is a retired county court judge as well as the Senior Code of Behaviour Commissioner for Cricket Australia. The luncheon costs $35 per head which includes a 2-course meal and complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks for the duration of the luncheon (12noon - 2pm). Bookings can be made on 93900611.

To be honest, I really only noticed him from about midway through the third quarter, but reports are he was amongst the best players.

I don't think he'll be ready for next week, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him named for the game against the Roos. It all depends on how he pulls up after today.

There was the best, and then there was the rest. He was amongst the second group.
