Confident of a win this week. Must win the clearances out of the centre and run run run with that ball.
The combination of Ricciuto and McLeod must be shut down. Brodie had the job on McLeod last year and whilst Brodie got 1 more possession that Andrew he still left him alone for most part of the game, this can not happen. Woey may get the job on him.
Taz and Ant to fire big time and please Mick pee Williams off and put McKee in to assist Guy in the ruck.
GO PIES!

Oh yeah forgot to say how good Clokey was on Carey last year. Absolutely towelled him up, such a pleasure to see. Would be good if he got the job again and same thing happened. Post match last year my friend kept yelling out to the Crows supporters "you would have been good if Carey had of played". Laugh, we did.

I believe this will be the first of 3 consecutive wins.
Stretch is better than Clark as he is now.
Taz and Pebbles will have a field day.
Midfield again is where it is won and McCloud is not in good form.
MCG can have a day/night out with the handballs.
C2 will give them plenty to think about.
If Josh plays I believe we can do it easily - but I would like us to win every quarter - and especially the last still running.
Pies BIG.

Burns should be back (but will probably hold him off another few weeks).
Fraser will still be out.
Presti might be back.
C1 should play on Carey.
C2 should be back and provide relief for Richards.
If burns is back, Lica should take McCloud.
Kinnear should be dropped for C2.
Wiliams should be dropped for Burns (if he's back)
Walker should be dropped for Presit (if he's back)

WIN and there is still a sniff of finals
LOSE and its season over
For us to win we need to beat there midfield as there class outweighs us
clarke, ricciuto, mcleod, goodwin pretty good set up. If we break even with there midfield we will win if we dont they will beat us by 6 goals.I wonder if they can leave the roof open.

Goodwin unlikely to play as he is still out with the groin injury. McLeod barely spent half a sniff of the year in the midfield, but guarantee that Ayres has him in there this week. As important it is for us, with most of us positive we'll get the win, if the Crows drop this week, regardless of who they were playing, you could almost write them off for the year.
Expect Clarke to beat Richards, its really a given, but Guy can hurt him around the ground if he pushes to the right spots. I don't think they match up really well with us down back, Rocca can get the better of Perrie and Bassett likely to go with Tarrant, but they don't really have someone to play on Didak, Leon, even Lokan going forward and leading from the square could represent some problems.....given that Smart is out.
With only one key forward in Carey, guys like Ricciuto, Little Stiffy and McLeod are going to look to put us away early. If we can jump these guys at the start and just be intense from go to woe, I rate this as our best chance of the year. More confident going into Friday night than I was against the Blues, Tigers or Doggies.

And remember if Brett Burton gets the ball, let him kick the thing. He played like an absolute muppet last week, turned it over everytime he had possession.
This is the last roll of the dice, MUST win this game. We should give Burns and Presti another week rest also. If we play like we did against the Saints we should win, although an improvement would still be nice to see.

Oooops, forgot the birdman.....he's been their best midfielder all year. Funnily, stupidly, whatever to most, I think Lonie might get the gig on him. He's pretty strong in the air (Burton that is), and I can't see any of our other midfielders - Licuria, Woey, MCG, etc getting the job.
That said, don't be surprised if he is selected, Williams gets the job.....

from the CFC website
Magpie Injury List Monday 17 May
9:39:47 AM Mon 17 May, 2004
Nathan Buckley hamstring 2-3 weeks
Josh Fraser hamstring 1-2 weeks
Scott Burns hamstring 1-2 weeks
Simon Prestigiacomo ankle 2-3 weeks
Tom Davidson knee season
David Fanning knee 6-8 weeks
Steven McKee toe to be assessed
Based on that, the only real prospects are C.Cloke who played very well and R.shaw who was apparently BOG. Billy Morrison also apparantly played really well but may still be a little too early.
Last week the forward structure started to work. Forward line still needs work on holding it in.
Decision making needs to be less tentative.
As well, need more options in the centre. McGough still has OP and can only go half day and in any case, by himself is not sufficient. Need to look at options. Apparently Swan is excellent at reading the drop of the ball and has a strong body. Others who could be tried are Lokan, Cole and Didak. Lokan is fast and strong and could be useful in bursting out at bounces. Similarly Cole. Didak is skillful and agile. Another option if we're in experimental mode is j.Cloke in a Hirdlike role at the centre bounces. He's strong, supposed to read the ball well and courageous. May not have the reflexes or quick thinking, but you never know until you try.

yes i think you're right. Can't count on Burns and Presti coming back.
Woey will have to own the centre, i think mccloud is always a danger man especially against collingwood. And i think only Lonie has the strength and speed to go with Ricciuto.
I think we should every try Dids in the middle. Get him the ball and let him give something to the forwards. We need an attacking on-baller, the crows will then have to put tag him, this should stop the centre clearance onslaught many teams have subjected us to this season.
Otherwise, we should: play wakelin and cloke in FF, or some other crazy plan which only MM can devise.
The key is to stop the easy clearances. Dont let their forwards lead. If we can make Carey run a bit then we'll own him.
