I've seen tallant in Aaron Francis. There's a good player in there somewhere. Essendon have played him out of position and its been a C-Word of a club to be at his entire career.

If he was a delisted free agent, go for him. He has a leap on him and can take contested marks. Not sure he can reach the level that Howe is at, but I think he cold be groomed into that role with Howe getting towards the end of his career.

Or straight swap with Hawthorn, Grundy for Mitchell, both new clubs pay the full contract?

(Personally I'd rather keep Grundy and don't really want Mitchell)

Not watching the game - but seems to be making a good contribution stats-wise.

McStay playing ruck as McInerney subbed out.
Getting beaten in the ruck, but holding it together. A nice inside 50 set up and a goal was his highlights. A few mistakes, but he’s in the thick of it

Let me have a big old unrealistic crack:
First things first; Jordan De Goey 4 year deal. Oliver Henry 3 year deal.

After that; Will Hoskin-Elliott 2 year deal. Josh Carmichael (Rookie) 2 year deal. Will Kelly 1 year deal.

Delist: Tom Wilson (Rookie). Isaac Chugg (Rookie).

Delist and re-rookie: Jack Madgen. Liam McMahon.

Free Agency Signing: Dan McStay 3 year deal with a trigger for 4.

Trade;

-Tyler Brown and Callum Brown to Sydney for pick 34 and 70.

-Caleb Poulter and pick 34 to Adelaide for Billy Frampton and pick 23.

-Pick 70 to Melbourne for Sam Weideman.

-Brodie Grundy to Melbourne for pick 14 and pick 35.

-Pick 14, 23 and 35 to GWS for Ian Hill and Tim Tarranto.

-Pick 15 to Geelong for Jack Henry.

-Pick 48 to Essendon for Aaron Francis.

Already gone: Roughead, Keane (rookie).

Go to the draft with: 42 and 47. (Means 2 more delistings)

Can't fit in Mitchell/Crouch unless future picks come in to it.
Yeah still couldn't make it all work. Weideman and Francis wont be popular picks.

So no different to Cameron or Cox then.

Yep, but he may be the best of the three... He played well tonight, as good as Cameron and Cox have been all year.

I just hope his contract is reasonable lol

My 3 cents on Mitchell. Pendles is getting on and we sorely need some big mids. Naics goes into the middle next year and probably needs that big body protection. Also if like suggested above Hawks pay some of that salary that negates Grundy or Trelor. No brainier for mine.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

I thought he had a pretty big hand in that victory.Obviously got towelled up by a giant proper ruckman but quite a few of his centre bounce contests to Neall were sublime and resulted in about 3 goals from what I saw. Rucked ,basically all night and his tank is big. I think his train has left the station at the Gabba and a fresh start will see the best of him. I'm all in with this guy.I have to add something though. My very best mate is his godfather and I've met Dan a few times and he is a lovely young man who would fit seamlessly into the new Collingwood way. Perhaps I view him more critically. I'm pretty sure his Mum is a Mad Collingwood supporter as well.

Looks good, BUT Madgen needs to be gone and we keep Grundy. Why trade a 2 time AA mobile Ruckman and then hope we find another one.

^ Yep. He proved his versatility last night.
Ended the game really strong in the ruck. Got in their best players.
