Done!
It was lost in the spectacle and grandeur of Jamie's goal, but when you watch it isolated, wow.

What makes a great goal? Bolton's was probably the hardest kick to execute. Both Daicos and Draper's kicks ended up being relatively easy in comparison.
All three has a comparable level of difficulty in leading up the goal.
I think all three are worthy.

Thankfully it doesn't look like the winner will be decided purely by the public vote.
"Voting will open after the 2022 Toyota AFL home and away season for the 2022 Rebel AFL Goal of the Year and the overall winner will be selected by the AFL Game Analysis Committee (counted as 10 votes) and by public voting (counted as 1 vote). "

That's a relief to hear! Nothing against democracy, but this kind of competition shouldn't just be a popularity contest, given people's tendency to vote according to which team they support (or, in Collingwood's case, hate).swoop42 wrote:Thankfully it doesn't look like the winner will be decided purely by the public vote.

I could be wrong, but I think the last time GOTY and MOTY were determined by public voting alone was the year Howie was robbed.Presti35 wrote:This is a relief. If only they did this from the beginning.
I think even the AFL realized they had made a huge error in allowing the plebs to determine the winners!
