I'm with you P4s. Given that we should have Kreuger available next year, I don't see the need for another tall forward. If anything we need a big bodied full back and another strong bodied quality midfielder.

I think we're definitely getting McStay or someone similar. My main concern is that we also need mids, especially inside mids. One would be good, two would be better. We always lose JDG or Adams for a third of a seaon each, and nobody else plays that role (though Jaicos is getting better at the inside stuff).

Could Mitch Wallis (186 cm and 86kgs) be a cheap inside midfield option?

He turns 30 in October, but would come relatively cheap and is known to kick a goal or two on his day.

I would not be opposed to grabbing Goldstein for two seasons- he is a quality tap ruckman who is also capable in the forward half.

No thanks.

If he was good enough, he'd be in Melbourne's senior side.

Stress not Jezza. Gone are days of nostalgia driving bad decisions. The people in charge now can objectively look at Weideman without being seduced by memories of Murray and Mark.

Here's an interesting opinion article about McStay possibly coming to Collingwood.
"Collingwood’s commitment to securing Brisbane’s Daniel McStay baffles me."
- Actually it has baffled me too as it has many here on this forum.

I must admit, I dont understand our apparent priority targets atm. We need above all else I think another big bodied mid. If we had such a player right now, we would be up to our eyeballs in winning the flag.
I think the lack of an extra one is where we might fall short this year.
Therefore, why aren't we going all out to grab one now?
The best solution to getting a replacement for Grundy is not to trade him. We simply have no idea how extra good he can become under our new coaches and within the new gameplan. He was injured early in the season, before our team had been fully able to master and execute the new game style. We have no idea what impact he could be having now.

Hoping that Craig McRae will perform a miracle on Brodie Grundy and turn him into a player worth his contract is like going to the casino, chasing your losses and going bankrupt, when winning gamblers have warned you to stop yourself from going full tilt and to cut your losses.

Getting rid of Grundy before you know what he can achieve under Fly is like selling your shares just before a bull run.

Don’t bother with Wonka. He’s just trolling. He only has one topic - and absolutely nothing useful to say about it.
