I could not fit him into my votes, but I thought that two gamechanging moments took place within minutes of each other in the third quarter as a result of the sheer football skill of Brodie Mihocek. That sublime low pass to McCreery in the goal square, followed soon after by a gutsy, ball-tearing contested mark in the square. What a difference it makes when you have real footballers in the side. Not athletes, not showponies, just hard, honest, skilled men who execute skills perfectly under pressure.

Beating this silver spoon filth was as beautiful as watching their Range Rovers with ski racks being denied entry into the MCG car park due to the wet grass and risk of disturbing the endangered Jolimont rainbow tree frog habitat. Best game all year ! I must say some of those Melbourne players are utterly overrated.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

just an awesome win
so privileged to be there to witness that
got ahead of yourself langdon with your lack of respect
maynard set the tone early to show what they thought of your arrogance then showed the way with that monster tackle and his team mates followed
daicos goal off one step from 50 set up the winning tide
johnson is the forward we have been looking for
the double chance now beckons and once you get there who knows

It's been an extraordinary year. I'm stunned by what we've produced tonight and over the course of the year. I've never seen anything like it with the uncanny ability to win the close ones consistently.
One thing you can rely on with this team is the 'never say die' attitude it embodies. Melbourne beat us in a lot of key metrics, but our ability to pressure them was outstanding. We won the tackle count 71-59 and had 18 tackles in our forward 50 compared to 8 tackles from Melbourne.
Congrats to Jamie Elliott on 150 games. He's had to battle hard to get there over the past decade, but very well deserved and beautifully capped off with a fantastic performance.
We're riding a wave of momentum. After tonight, I think we're a premiership contender. Doesn't mean we'll necessarily win it, but there's an opportunity there for the taking. It's something I never contemplated as a possibility at the start of the year, so it's crazy how far we've come.
What McRae and the coaching staff have done with this list is nothing short of a miracle. We play a better and more attractive style which is great, but the buy in from the playing group is the biggest compliment I can give to McRae. He was always renowned for his man management skills, but we're seeing it in action now.
The Ponny was rocking tonight. The atmosphere was out of this world.

Anyone who has followed Ash Johnson weekly in the VFL this year would not be surprised at his meteoric rise to forwardline fame. He has been a VFL jet all year and should have been selected vs WCE at Marvel earlier in the year. Instead he wasn’t selected, and proceeded to tear his hamstring from the bone that weekend in the VFL. Fast forward 10-12 weeks … and here we are. A. Freakin’. Jet.
