At half time McCreery had zero touches. He really stood up in the second half. Great credit to the lad for keeping his head in the game.

Moreso, phenomenal coaching to turn around the game after half time. I loved being there and watching how the side plays with great spirit, intelligence and heart.
Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal!

That’s the beauty, it was a ripping game of attacking football which we actually won by being the better skilled side.

Such a change from the dull footy of recent years, maybe the rule changes for once have actually helped the game?

65 to 41 inside 50s.
52 to 32 clearances.
162 to 138 contested possessions.

No wonder Melbourne won.

Honestly that has to be one of the greatest and bravest performances by a team well beaten in key areas.

We had no damn right and yet we still did.

Amazing.

Pressure and intensity are hard to measure in stats. We win that most weeks.

Unbelievable. That’s one of the best wins I’ve ever seen from a Collingwood side..This side is all❤️❤️❤️.I think we are having the most incredible season any Collingwood side has ever had, probably the most incredible season any team has ever had in the AFL with this extraordinary run of close wins.

I was very subdued tonight in comparison to the Essendon game where I screamed my head off at the end.I didn’t want to frighten the neighbours again with my screams,or get all the dogs in the neighbourhood running to my house with my high pitched wails. So I was very quiet,a bit like Kylie Minogue in the finale of Neighbours.

Great stat. Opposition teams must be thinking what they have to do to beat us.

I tell you what, in the last 10 minutes we had plenty of those Demons boys jumping at shadows. We are in everyone's head right now. We are The Mentalists.

Never seen a Pies team gutsier than this one and we've have plenty of gutsy teams. Maynard & De Goey were brutal brutes tonight. The way they bulldozed through the Dees mids was inspiring.

I don't know how far we can go but I'm just going to enjoy the ride and whatever they achieve is good enough.

A lot of that was in the 1st half and we did amazingly well to only be 17 points down at the long break. Those stats went our way after half time and our pressure really did stifle them. However the way we continued to move the ball got us over the line.

Yes, he had complete duck eggs on the stats sheet at half time

His mark, kick and goal 8 mins into the 3rd was his first stat

5 tackles in the last quarter

No words to describe my joy, my amazement , and my admiration for this team. It defies the physical laws of the universe. This team, from 17th last year, has now proven itself to be a Premiership contender. The drive to win, the refusal to submit to defeat, is now ingrained in the DNA. And the talent unleashed is just astonishing. Ash Johnson...wow. Jamie Elliott...what a game, what a player. Astonishing. He said in his 150 milestone interview that he wants to play in a winning Premiership team.He is playing like he believes that he will this year.
The step up in the second half from this team was immense. Just ran over the current Premiers.
There is just something magical that we are witnessing.

Great post MM. Yes, in fact in the entire last half, they were on the back foot. But as you say, the frenzied pressure in the last 10 minutes blew them away. They had no answers. Our coaches, and our players, have created a psychologial/physical dynamic which we can say now is creating tremors in the competition.
