It pains me to see that we never get the same treatment as the opponent. The list goes on and on.
Can someone help me out with the daicos slam tackle and holding the ball rule. he clearly should have been given the opportunity to stay on his line and prop before being told to play on.

I was saying to the missus B4 the first bounce that we were overdue a game where the umps give us a few gimmies. So i had no shame in cheering on that Ash Johnson non push after weeks of umps crucifying us. The Ducks gotta goal after a clear Ben Brown throw anyway.

That was a blatant push, to do it 5m away from the umpire was always going to be paid.

We also got away with a shocking throw by Johnson in our forward line in the last.

They sucked arse in the first half, but sucked slightly less arse in the second half, when they put the whistles away, and umpired like a final, which was befitting the standard of the contest.

There were iffy decisions paid both ways. The HTB free Elliott got in the second quarter was very hot on the defender. In general, I wish they paid more frees for the player with the ball or leading into it - in the back and holding the man - and fewer red hot holding the ball decisions.

That 50 against Howe that resulted in a charity goal to them, that threatened to stop our momentum in the second quarter, was telling too.
I was convinced it was going to be the difference by full time...

Oh, and the Melbourne Ducks THREW more forward passes than the Melbourne Storm did tonight, across the road!

Umpiring was really good. My only issue is that the umpires don't whistle the play dead quick enough in a tackle with no prior. They allow the player to try to extract the ball which 99% of the time goes no where but wasted 5 seconds and allows players to congregate.

They were ridiculously trigger happy on holding the ball, but that suits our game plan perfectly. We kicked probably at least 5-6 directly from free kicks within 30m of goal.
You were watching a different game. They were horrendous tonight. Especially
Stephens(12). More than a couple of howlers
I agree with Scoobs on this one, some baffling inconsistent interpretations of holding the ball, and God knows what they will do in a marking contest, its just a raffle
