Must agree. I just thought that review showed personal bias rather than hat actually happened. Lonie had one less possession and 3 more tackles than Wakelin who gets a 6, yet Lonie gets a 0? Cloke was good, certainly not a zero. Walker was on par with Cloke, 4 or 5. Tarrant was more like a 6 or 7 considering he snagged 4. Woewodin gets 28 possies + 4 tackles and only gets a 7? More like 8.
You should only get a 0 if you don't get a touch.

I thought the boys showed good spirit tonight. At the end of he day, we just did not have the man power to win this game. Its not how many injuries you have, but who is injured. What a difference, Buckley, Burns, Lockyer, Presti and Fraser would have made tonight!
The umpires were shocking tonight and we got absolutely crucified by them. 11 Frees to 16 tells the story here.
I am absolutely delighted with the progress of Richards. MM please leave him in the side as his development is terrific. 19 Hitouts, 11 touches and 5 tackles and 6 marks tells the story. Great night Guy.
Also hats off to Johnson, Licuria and Woewodin. All three tried really hard all night.
Pebbles and Taz also contributed a fair bit with 7 goals between them. They are certainly not far from breaking a game open between them.
One of the main problems I saw tonight was that their crumming forwards contributed 9 goals between them. Ours contributed 2. Our small forwards being Didak and Davis need to lift their workrates and present a lot more.

Pies vs Saints post match
Mick seems to give a lot of the wrong people chances. Lonie has had three screw ups in as many games. And why does he take McGough off after he kicked the goal (i think it was in the third quarter but don't quote me on it). Don't get me wrong, I really like Lonie most of the time but he needs to find some form. So does Didak and Davis who were inconsistent.
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!

I was also wondering that same thing about lonie. I was also thinking we should try clement in the midfield, I think he has what it takes.
THIS GAME WAS AN ABSOLUTE FARCE. I have never seen such one sided umpiring. The count was 16-4 at three quarter time if you beleive the scoreboard, if they counted stats for missed free kicks for us there would have been about 20. During the game I counted the amount of goals the aints kicked straight after a free kick, it was 10. What a joke the afl has become.
Fraser Gehrig, that showpony, wearing little league capper shorts walks back towards the cheersquad and has a go at someone and the cheersquad member gets thrown out. If there was ever going to be a riot at an afl match tonight would have been it.
I thought Johnno was great again as was Tazza and even Woey showed a bit, but we were really exposed in the midfield tonight. Again we only managed 13 goals for the game, that is not going to win you many matches, especially at the telstra dome. It's not the forwards fault either, they have no supply.
Oh well the season is now officially over, I think we will still win a few more games this year but I'm not getting my hopes up for the finals. We could win the next 3 games against the crows, roos and wet toast, that would put us 4 and 7 we would still need to win at least 7 of the last 11 games to have any chance.

I was wondering that too Melissa, it was in the 2nd quarter. He did exactly the same thing to him on Anzac Day I think it was. McGough kicked a goal......straight off the ground.melissa wrote:Mick seems to give a lot of the wrong people chances. Lonie has had three screw ups in as many games. Now as to the strange feeling I had....maybe it was just UFO's after all!

THey seemed to be a lot better for driving it fast and deep into the forward line - a bit late to find out but.
Hopefully some of these young players will be real stars in a year or 2 - you never know, who would have guessed Johnno? The future looks ...potentially....bright.
My guess with Mcgough is he is still getting some OP and being nursed through it.

As many have already mentioned, Stretch was great today. He is taking some big steps especially since Josh has been out.
Woey and Johnno were terrific today, Pebs and taz a bit below them but still great. Licca tried really hard, as did most.
Alot better then last week, even though we lost by so much more. Next week, i can see us winning a game - havent said that in a while.
Oh and Dids..... i was disappointed in his performance today. Nice mark, but we need more from him

Personally, I am wondering what the hell is going on with Didak, not only did he get shown up on various occasions for not going the hard ball, but his taps and weak attempts to control a hot ball instead of grabbing the pill are not what is needed and his defensive work is crap. Here is a guy with enormous potential but I wonder when it will come to fruition.
I thought Licuria was mediocre at best by his standards. Walker, he is a worry, completely outclassed and just did not no where to position himself. Yes he was on classy opposition but Reiwoldt was basically a loose man from where I was sitting and he easily drifted off packs and Walker continuously let him. The only time I like the look of Walker at the moment is when he rucks. But he is young like the rest of them. Mullins spent most of the night on the pine, Nixon at least got some touches and contested, remember he is as green as it gets. It won't hurt to keep playing him and see if he improves. Johnson was just superb.
Crunch time next week - Adelaide at home.

Richards was fantastic, Cole improved, Lonie in trouble, Jonno inspiring the way he didn't stop running, Woey impresive, Licca back in some sort of touch,Tarrant and Rocca very good. Very good performance all up.
Next week will show where we're at. I think we're due for a win.
Lonie was played on Koschitzkie because he needed the experiance. MM would have wanted to see if he would sink or swim. He sank.
Wakelin on the pine was silly considering their tall forward line.
Gherig has about 5 kicks. They were 5 goals. Clement did a great job on him.
*Will post more later*

One thing that was bloody obvious last night, is the amount of success we have when we go direct and long to Rocca and Tarrant. I would say the chances of us marking the ball inside 50 are more than just 50/50, so I don't know why we keep hugging the boundary line as we move the ball forward.
For instance, when Clement kicked the ball in after a behind, we found a loose man (I think Woewodin) about 50 out. Instead of going through the corridor, Woey took the ball and ran almost instinctively to the wing. What for?
It infuriates me when this happens, knowing that we have a much higher chance of kicking goals if we get it in quick to our forwards!

Micks coaching MUST be questioned
Why - take McGough off as soon as he kicks a goal and leave him off for the whole 3rd Quarter
Why - not start our best defender Wakelin????????
Why - have Lonie play on Kositzche??
Why keep Clement on Gehrig? When he is 8kg lghter? Clement not only got beaten but hardly got a chance ot turn defence into attack.
Why not man up Rewoldt?
Why keep Mullins on the bench for most of the game?
I reckon Mick must have beem asleep in the booth for much of the match cause unless he is trying to implement the Mandate, he had a shocker!
