Might be the same as MOTY last year, where the winner of GOTY doesn't win goal of the week.

Daicos Vs Draper is going to be all the talk.

Let's not let what happened to Howes stolen mark of the year happen here too.

When the time comes, we'll be up against every Essendon supporter in history voting for Draper.

‘Twas foretold in the parables of Ye Chronicles of Trel nigh six years ago.

But the people of Magwood were not yet consoled, and Sir Edward the fat squire of Collbord did say unto them. "Fear not for I have cast a healing potion upon Jacobi de Leapalot, the impish winged sprite who hath fornicated so fearlessly he doth broke his spine. I have tamed his lusty demons and he cometh now only to join his comrades." But still the faithful Magwood did weep.

Then behold! A blinding light did shine upon the Magwood and when it did pass there was before them a miracle. The Gods of Afel had delivered unto them the sons of Petro of Macedon and Gavyn de Flagg. And sing and rejoice did the Magwood and joyously did they make ready for war.

The ball control was just ridiculous. First the underground handpass to himself, then basically a basketball dribble to avoid the second tackle, baulk around then accelerate off like they're wading through wet cement while he's dancing over the surface, couple of bounces, come inboard and snap it through.

Every action deliberate and perfectly executed. Just fkn brilliant.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

One of the greatest goals I've seen.

The skill and intelligence to pull it off was amazing.

Those of us who saw and loved his dad playing had something in our eye as that went through. It is a privilege to have lived through one Daicos era, let alone two. What an amazing day, with two all time memories.

Literally jumped off the couch with excitement watching Daicos go. Was yelling like I was at the race course!

I was stunned into silence at the end of the game. This'll be a hard one to forget

No idea where he gets it from :

I once saw an interview where the Marvel called this perhaps his favourite goal. His son’s was similar, but almost on another level, too….

Too right. Josh's audacious goal was textbook 'the Macedonian Marvel'. I never thought I'd see the likes of Daics of old again, but to now have 2 of his sons exhibiting elements of their old man's magical brilliance is beyond belief. And to think we should have another 12 yrs or more of this is breath-taking in its promise of almost infinite possibilities to come. 8)

The two quotes above just say it all about how I feel about that surreal game yesterday and the highlights provided by the two Daicos boys. Josh's goal was just sublime skill and instinctive reaction.
Surrounding the game was the poignant reminder of another Collingwood great who used to thrill the faithful in a different way. Such an unforgettable afternoon ...

Hey everyone. Nick's old-timer here, back to give this page another boost.

Thought Josh's GOTY contender got a bit lost in all the madness of the win on Sunday, so I thought I'd write a bit on it here. Contains gifs and sentiment.

Not many weeks of the men's season to go, but you can still throw me a subscription for peanuts if you like what you read.
