Ive been saying for ages we should say something and cop the fine , just cop it and get it off our chest, but the club wont do it, shame. It wont change, been going on for ages, but nobody says a word from the club.

They did everything they could to get Adelaide over the line.Even in the last minute when the ball was trapped in our forward fifty they gave them a soft free kick, which gave them another chance to score. But fortunately for us,they didn’t.

Umpiring is something We can’t control, but we should be putting in a call to AfL HQ for explanation.

Ginni gets his head ripped off poor kid, does he have to be knocked out to get a free ?

We get shafted every week .

It is hard to watch these unprofessional umpires.

Nobody's perfect either umpires or players. Both make mistakes. We had a good run when we played the Crows in Melb earlier in the year so these things inevitably even themselves out.
Having said that the holding the ball against Ginnivan resulting in a crows goal was baffling

I don’t usually have a go at the umpires and I don’t believe in any anti-Collingwood agenda, but I do think there’s an anti-Ginnivan agenda. That holding the ball free against him was one of the most disgraceful decisions I’ve ever seen. Should have been a free against Walker if anything.

When Jack Ginnivan is on the ground, he wears the Cloak of Invisibility as far as the umpires are concerned.
And as for Pendles questioning what was clearly a mistake by an umpire who reads too much media rubbish, the umpires and the league should grow up and learn the difference between dissent and abuse. Infallibility is a Papal prerogative, to which the AFL and its umpiring cohort have no claim.

Ginnivan dived for the ball and didn't get rid of it. That's my interpretation for the HTB decision. There was another one, I can't remember exactly.

Usually, I say, sure, that's the rule, but in the wet, it seems a bit crazy to be penalising the player going for the ball.

Thankfully, the umpires were lenient on the kicking in danger. There were quite a few hacks at the ball with the foot that in most other games would have been paid as a kicking in danger.

Ginni had the ball behind him, between his ankles, he had zero chance to get it out. The umpiring was crap.

Strap yourselves in folks.

The crucifixion of jack Ginnivan will continue until he is knocked unconscious or retires from the game- a broken man.

In my time, I have seen the line drawn across the centre circle (in response to Peter Moore rucking against Gary Dempsey; 'The Gayfer Rule' which saw him umpired out of a job; the change to the number of allowable interchanges to negate Swanny's influence on games and now 'The Ginnivan Rule'.

This lad was denied a free kick (blatantly around the neck) and then a minute later, an Adelaide Crow player got a free for the same type of incident.

Im not sure if the umpiring was worse than the commentary (Kelli Underwood- "it would be heartbreaking to see the Crows lose...") not from lounge room, toots.

Get ready for some really shite umpiring against us as we near a potential finals spot.

I'll defend it. Last week's game against North Melbourne deserved the royal commission. Umpiring today was just par for the course. We need to accept that the umpires hate us and learn to cop it. However when they blatantly attempt to cheat us out of winning on our merits as they did last week the club admin needs to step in and take it to the top of the AFL.

Yep. This. We have to learn to accept it because this what we cop every week. I don't care if we lose the free kick count as long as the umpires show some sort of consistency. Ginnivan didn't get the free kicks around the neck this week, but neither did the Adelaide players, so I just let it go to the standard of umpiring I expect. Ginnivan has to stop his practice of waiting for the free kick when he's tackled. None of our other players do it. Just keep playing the ball and behave as though it's play on.

The umpires just need to umpire him the way they umpire everybody else. They're actually arseholes - it's a blight on the competition that opposition players are now allowed to attack him from all angles with impunity. The "head-high tackle moratorium" doesn't even begin to cover it. He is allowed to be scragged going for marks, pushed in the back, held when not in possession and lined up for phyiscal punishment that, if dished out to other players, would be reportable. It's time the Club started speaking abvout this publicly and without restraint. Imagine what Hardwick would do if players were suddenly allowed to play like this against Martin, or what Clarkson would do if players were suddenly allowed to play like this against Cyril Rioli. It's shameful and the people in charge of umpiring should actually be embarrassed about it.

Agree 100%. He is copping a lot off the ball as well. This is the media’s fault for constantly bringing it up each week.
