I remember ( I think it was 2002) when the saints flooded our forward line for a half of Football and how we then broke their back and won bya sizable margin...Oh how the times they are a changing !!!

flooding will never work now. If your flooding your never going to score because everytime you get the ball there is nobody to kick to.

This is one thing we have been having trouble with this year. We have seemed to leave the forward 50 vacant for long periods of time, when we get a turnover there is nobody in the forward line finish off the hard work, then one of the midfielders will wait and either get caught or under pressure will kick it straight down the oppositions throat. I think we need to have at least one player that stays close to goal and doesn't leave the 50 metre arc unless he is on a lead.

All we know is milne wont be a problem for us... johnno will wipe him out and also create run from defence. (as milne has no defensive skills)..

The main problem would be the tall st.kilda forwards in gherig and possibly hamill, wakes will most likely take gherig, but who else have we got if that doesnt work? J.Cloke..(we all know he cant play 1 on 1 defence)...Presti isnt playing, Walker (dont think so... :? )

Thats where we will strruggle... if we can stop the TALL forwards... Pies by 15.... If we cant stop the TALL forwards... Saints by 40...

I may be laughed at here...BUT how about bringing back Mckee to CHB, to help with their tall forwards and also to rotate with Richards in the Ruck and hence leave Rocca up Forward where he belongs. It would also allow us to give Kinnear a FULL game up forward to try and stretch their defence.

As Kinnear has never really proven himself..give him the confidence to know he will be up foprward ALL day...Let him know if ever he was going to stand up the Pies....Sat night has to be the game !!

nah...its my team... there was noone else to bring back but r.shaw.... nixon hasnt proven himself with 2 handballs from 2 games... j.cloke desperately needs a game in the 2nds to get some confidence back, and LEARN HOW TO KICK.....r.shaw & A.Williams deserves go's, and nows the time with an injury plagued team...

I'd agree with bringing mckee back into the side if fit. He would help out in the ruck and is good around the ground. I'd like to see rocca stay in full forward all game. We need a strong marking option deep in attack. Too many of our shots at goal are from too far out or on impossible angles.

If we must have R Shaw in the team I think we should play him across half forward. It may pay off, then at least he won't be making stupid mistakes in the backline causing goals for the saints.

Steve McKee has a toe injury and it may keep him out for the rest of the season.

Rhyce Shaw's pace and ability to run out of the backline would be handy at the Dome but he's way down in confidence and probably needs a few more weeks at Willi to regain it.

Andrew Williams has been exposed and probably won't come back. He had a handful of good games early last year, looked like shaping up but lost it and I don't think there's a place for him in the forward line any more anyway.

If Cameron Cloke has recovered, he should play, as he will be needed in both the forward line and ruck, so we can rotate Richards, Rocca and CC in the ruck without stuffing up the forward line.

We need make only two changes - for Bucks and Dutch. CC should be one of them and it depends on who who is in good enough form at Willi for the other. This is no time to be making wholesale changes. We need a bit of stability to settle the team down. Maybe a quick defender to release Johnno onto the ball. Bo Nixon apparently played well in defence for Willi so may be a chance.

All you need to do is for a few of the midfielders to drop back in defence and fill the holes. Brisbane did that against Hawthorn the other week at the GABBA. Essendon more often than not drop Turd and Rolly Polly down back as sweepers when the game is close.

If we go 1 on 1 in their forward line we will be torn to shreds by Gehrig as he is too strong and also is quick off the lead.

Surely the Shack will get a chance sooner rather than later.

He may not deserve a go at senior level but sometimes you need to throw out a challenge to someone and see if they rise to it. Our on ball division is depleted and he is an onballer so give him a go.

I think Wakelin would be given 1st go on Gehrig. If that doesn't work out then Walker. But after that we don't have anyone to put on him with Presti out. Cloke and Clement aren't strong enough plus Cloke plays better as the loose man.
