I really think that we have a great chance to beat the sainters on sat night, it's a sellout pretty much (the closest seats i could get were level 3 row p), and then theres the saints without lenny and heath black, so they could be a little unstable, whereas we are without plenty but i rekon where used to it. If our foward line gets on top, then it could become a shootout, our midfield isn't that bad, lica is getting into a bit of form so is woey and obes.
Goughy was knocked around in the first 10 seconds of the game last week therefore didn't have his usual impact this week should be different. Sanny was great in the middle and guy was great too. If dids can get some form who have they got to stop him. If cam plays (which i think he will) we could stretch their defence. Lets just hope for a good start, and or the pies to shock the hell out of the sainters!!!!

I see this as really the last gasp for this season. I thought it was over last week, but the way I figure it, we were in with a chance before Carlton beat us, and were expected to win that game, But even in top form we wouldn't be expected to win against the Aints, ie it could go either way.
So if we had beaten CArlton then lost to Aints, we would still be considered in the race. therefore if we can beat Aints that will give the same result. It will also obviusly show we are good enough.
Mind you I wouldn't be betting too much on it - might be prepared to go to bed with Donny's avatar if Aints win - I don't think there's much hope but not giving up until Saturday.
Forward line hasn't clicked all year except for a few minutes here and there, that's what has to happen and the simplest recipe is kick it in long and fast to give them continual 50/50's.

Lonie should forget about his short kicking and start doing what he does best and that is run and kick the ball long. Long and direct is the key. Muck around with the ball and the Saints will flood back and we will have no hope. Mick could mix things up with the forward line to get some of the Saints players out of their comfort zone.
Hopefully the youngsters will stand up and be counted and gain some respect back for the club

The Torres bounce is officially dead. You are walking alone now Fernando.

The good thing about the game being at the Dome is that our guys like the firmer surface - some of them were falling all over the place at the 'G last Saturday - so they'll have a chance to play quick footy without worrying about their balance, which will at least give us a chance to play a run-on game and kick long into the forward line. I'd like to see Lonie on a wing so he can collect a long ball out of defence and send it straight to Taz and Rocca; if we move it really quickly all night, we'll have a chance.
Cloke will be in defence all night; the Saints have three tall forwards and we'll need all hands on deck - Walkelin will have a better time as Gehrig isn't as quick as Fevola, so he should match up better, Walker will go onto Hamill, with Cloke on Riewold, which should make for a good contest. What we need though is Cameron Cloke back to play forward and share the rucking; when Richards tired last week, MM took Rocca out of the forward line and put him on the ball, which threw the forward line balance out. We need Rocca at FF or CHF all night so that we can play the long ball and make a contest, allowing Leon to collect the crumbs. He's another guy who will love the dry surface and will burn the grass off.
The Saints are beatable, but we'll need to match their agression and win more than our share of the hard ball. This is going to play like a final. We know how well our guys can play in such matches but the question is, will they?
