To be leader she'd have to leave her comfy Senate position and stand for the house of representatives. She would be a better leader than Albo or Shorten theoretically, but her desire to take the soft option is a minus on her leadership.

Then you would get called racist and sexist if you dared to say a negative word about her, would be a fun ride.

But I couldn’t imagine a more dislike able or polarising figure than Penny.

The fact she herself was against gay marriage initially says a lot about her convictions.

Labor's election commitments would cost the budget bottom line an extra $7.4 billion, the opposition has confirmed in its pre-election costings.

Probably too late to impact many people's decisions and, to be fair, it's not a massive amount when put in context, but does help float the narrative that Labor can't manage money.

Independents will decide it, it should be very close but could easily tip into a massacre if the right seats tip to Labor.

I will cough up a lung laughing if SloMo wins this.
