Qtr time; Pies 2.1.13 lead Bulldogs 1.2.8

Bulldogs leading most of the stats apart from clearances.
Windy and wet but the Pies need to get better with disposal.

Bulldogs go the 1st gaol in the 2nd qtr to lead by 1 point.

Nobody can handle the ball at ground level and giving away silly free kicks.
Pies need to step up or they will blow their finals chances.

Half time: Bulldogs 3.2.20 lead Pies 2.2.14

Terrible qtr by the Pies against the bottom team.
Bulldogs managed to hit targets and have free players, Pies disposal ordinary.

Hopefully they will get their sh*t together in the 2nd half as they can play better than they showed on the 1st half.

3 qtr time: Bulldogs 4.2.26 lead Pies 3.3.21

Lead 5 points. Not insurmountable but in the current conditions and the way the Pies are playing, the Dogs may get their 1st win for the year.

Well that was hard work.

Pies win by 10 points.
Pies 5.6.36 def Bulldogs 4.2.26

Goals: Dematteo 2, Newman, Skepper, Van der Vlies

A great smother by Hannah Bowey in the forward pocket lead to a Monqiue Dematteo snap for the wining goal at the 18 minute mark of the final qtr. Also (finally) managed to hit some targets and hold a couple of marks in the final few minutes.

Geelong currently leading Darebin at half time, so Pies will remain a game clear in 6th spot.

Round 13 vs Port Melbourne

Saturday 21 June @ 3.35pm. Venue ETU Stadium (North Port Oval)

Ladder position: Pies 6th 6 wins 90% Port 11th 2 wins 41%

Match centre:
https://www.afl.com.au/vflw/matches/4132

Based on ladder position, Pies should win this but like last week, can't take any team for granted. A win would also ensure a spot in the finals with one round to go in H&A. North & Darebin are just out of the top 6 with 5 wins but both have a low %.

Pies win, like last week hard work against a lower ranked team

Pies 6.5.41 def Port 5.2.32

Goals: King 2, Cowan, Jackson, Smith, Taylor

Matilda Zander leading disposals (again) with 23.

Pies retain spot in the top 6.
Even if they lose next week against Geelong (50/50) and North beat Southern Saints (unlikely), North are a fair way behind on %.
