Whoever said it in the match thread was spot on. This new rule is having the opposite effect.
People are hating the umpires more, not respecting them more. The morons in the AFL who thought censorship is the answer only need to look and how the world laughs at North Korea, the PRC and Russia.

I hate watching as well.. i particularly have dissent for umpires and the AFL even more. the heavy handed suppression of player conduct control is not in the DNA of the game i used to love. The AWFL is a terrible product of higher society rule. Interpretation of new rules are simply not actioned by the umpires consistently and just when you think the game your watching is settled in by the playing teams the umpires move in to take control and determine momentum and theres not a god dam thing anyone can do about it except not watch the tripe anymore.
no second chances

No doubt these rules are driving the public to hate AFL umpires even more.
And Brad Scott. An uber dud who is well out of his depth.

Ch7 coverage is always entertaining in their bias. On ANZAC Day every Collingwood free kick in the first qtr they’d flash up the free kick count, didn’t see it again for most of the game as Essendon got about 17 free kicks in a row…
Yet again last night, it’s first appearance was when Collingwood somehow got in front 4-3, find that hard to believe, but I turned off at qtr time so no idea if it continued for the rest of the game…
