i have really goos shots of DeGoey getting tripped in front of goal, no free, Checkers getting pushed in the back, and someone else i forget who, im about to start sorting, the trip though, is wow! oh yeah the Moore one, total bullshit

thats 1 free goal to them and 1 taken off us,

Umpires have never ever favoured one team over the other. Call it how they see it. Sometimes your way, sometimes not. Such is life. No conspiracies here.

i dont agree, there are teams that play for frees, and are awarded them when they should not be

Playing for free kicks is not the same as the umpire favouring a side. I don’t like Ginny dropping at the knees and it looks like Pendles has learnt it to. Horrible look for the game. But I digress, umpires call it as they see it, they don’t see it differently based on the colour of the bumper.

yep, it was pretty clear there was some evening up happening. our game is too open to interpretation and therefore bias.

Like why was 2 metre peter given a free kick (that was crucial given that he kicked a goal in the 4th against the run of play to keep their chances alive) when he clearly blocked Darcy Moore from getting to the contest!!! Even Collingwood hating commentators noticed it.

Leigh Matthews chuckled when Darcy more gave away a free kick for slinging their guy out of a ruck contest when the other guy did EXCACTLY the same thing to Grundy literally the immediately prior rick contest.

Finally, if you have no prior opportunity and only one arm is pinned, how is that holding the ball when it wouldnt be if you had both arms pinned. You didnt have prior and you cannot legally dispose of a ball with one hand so how does having one hand free obviate the prior opportunity.

Ourt game is seriously bullshit in that regard!!!

And I am sure today there would have been a couple of holding the ball and did not pay it.

The umpires are at times are slow at making decisions.

Learnt it? Pendles has been doing it for years. I guess they’ve decided if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!

But you are kidding yourself if you don’t think umpires have favourites, favourite teams and favourite players.

And if you go to any Essendon board you'll find a bunch of their fans whinging about how the umpiring cowt them the game

Umpiring mistakes and inconsistencies occur on both sides and don't prove anything. Nor will they ever be eliminated from the game as long as we live

The Moore one was the worst. Bummers probably whinging about the 50 to Grundy but the guy moved off the mark and these days that is an automatic 50. They had the run from the scumps in the second half with Grundy 50 being the notable exception.

Moore one was bad, but Grundy getting completely rag dolled at a throw in by Draper was worse. Next ball up Draper got a free for minimal contact. Ruck contest frees are incomprehensible at the moment...

There were two to Draper that I still don’t (and I’m sure no one) knows what they were for - in marking contests - the umpires just guessed and wanted to pay Essendon frees. He wasn’t touched in either of them, in one he didn’t even go for the contest!

I think it was 5 - 2 our way at quarter time (from memory) and we got a couple of cheap ones, then the emerg umpire came out to talk to one of the field Umpires and all of a sudden it was 15 - 9 their way at three quarter time, including some absolute mind boggling make it up cause they never happened frees.

Essendon got an armchair ride for 2 quarters but in reality they didn’t really need it, their midfield was on top by miles, our backline just kept repelling and they kept missing shots! I reckon half their shots in goal were from
Free kicks and half of those were make believe.

As I said in another post, Essendon fans started leaving when we got a free (grundys 50 I think) in the last - when the umpires stopped cheating for them they knew it was hopeless!
