After the appallingly-mismanaged COVID summer, deaths bottomed out in Australia in the week ending 16 March 2022 at 140 per week. They have been progressively creeping back up in April and were 218 in the seven days ending today.

Hospitalisations bottomed out at 1,655 on 12 March 2022. They have been back over 3,000 for 7 of the last 8 days and today's figure was 3,145.

Sounds like there is a Big Push to say as long you don't have Covid you be allowed out of your house even IF people have covid in your house

There is a big push. Healthy people are being forced to isolate because a family member has tested positive which is contributing to staff shortages in many sectors.

Andrews has said the rules are being reviewed but the timing coming into winter is shit.

Many of the current restrictions are well past their use by date.

Masks for some primary school kids
Hospitality having to check vaccination status
Retail staff required to wear masks
Etc

Surely we've reached the stage where these last few mandated restrictions can be removed and personal responsibility can take over.

As much as I agree with removing restrictions, using case numbers as justification is ludicrous. Reported case numbers are just the tip of the iceberg as the only people getting tested are those who have to.

Once you remove restrictions, less people will get tested so case numbers go down more and become even less reflective of the number of actual infections.

When we started living with Covid they said the Case Numbers is not something to look at instead of looking how many People are in Hospital
