Dan said it’s not as simple as just finding more doctors and nurses, so how is Albo planning to man these super clinics and not further erode capacity in hospitals whilst also finding all these tens of thousands of nurses for his aged care policy?

It seems to be the old say lots of grand plans and hope no one actually thinks critically about them.

Not just medical staff, support staff, diagnostic machines and people knowing which one to go to.

Several years back I sliced into my finger, badly. Blood pissing out, couldn't stop it. I went to the Austin ED. Triage nurse saw that it was clearly non life threatening but rather than siting in ED for 4 hours they had a GP clinic around the corridoor from the ED which is where they sent me. Had to clamp the wound closed then glue it.

That's the sort of model that should be looked at IMHO. The ED already has the triage to assess severity, they have the diagnostic equipment if required, just create a low acuity ED space where triage can send people to get them out of ED. Feds could fund it, just re-fit some space, use all the existing resources rather than duplication of effort and provide incentives for GP's to rotate through there, state manages the hospitals and ambulances.

After week 1 of the election campaign it looks like independents are the winners.

Albo spent the week practicing changing which foot he had in his mouth, ScoMo doing staged photo ops and Bandt apparently released some policies which is totally futile as everyone knows he can promise whatever he wants in the sound knowledge he'll never have to deliver.

best bet so far looks like a minority government, depending on how well the "independents" go.

Mediscare has been dusted off and I've seen people on Facebook who swallow the koolaid on the debit cards for pensioners.

My view is the NDIS needs some tighter controls, not less as there are a number of providers totally rorting the system.

That rorting means money gets spent but not to the best benefit of the client.

I also heard that Companies charge lot more just because of People being on the NDIS so they think the Person does won't care as they don't have to pay them out of there own Pockets
