That's what I've been thinking re Didak. However maybe he doesn't have the engine at present. Whether it can be forced to develop by throwing him in the deep end for the rest of the season - might be worht trying. In any case it would probably be better to rotate him through the midfield than have him as a fulltime goal sneak. As a goal sneak he's pretty average or is it just the team and gameplan?
The other way to play Didak is like last season, keep him fresh then throw him in the midfield in the last quarter. Maybe just play him 2 quarters. But then he would never develop stamina. ANyway I can't help wondering if he would be a star if at another club.
sq3 RE conditioning that stuff might be true, but what about just the plain fact of fading at the end of games? Might be because too many younsters and not enough rotation? Also I think we only had 2 on the bench at the end.
Then there's the possibility that Pagan outcoached us.

Bad last quarter. Average match all up. Swan again looked good, Davis also took a few steps. I just want a bit of despiration in the team. Some-thing that is lacking at the moment. But without Burns, Fraser, Bucks and Presti with Tarrant underdone we were a 50/50 chance although injurys are not an excuse. Dids must lift, same with Wowy, Lones, Licca and the usural suspects.

Why can't we just play Didak in the guts till he drops. Start him and let him run until he can't run any more. THEN take him off, get some wind and put him on again, he's not 30. We don't need precautions, what are we saving anybody for now? %$^ its not rocket science.
Our midfield should be Didak, McGough, Licuria & Holland. McGough needs to be benched when he slows FFS - NOT rested in the F Pocket so he can embarrass himself. HE CAN ONLY PLAY ONE BLOODY POSITION. That's fine, just play him then rest him on the pine.
I don't get it. Play Buckley, then rest him on the pine. Play Burns, then rest him on the pine. Play McGough... leave him on??????? %$^ %$^ %$^ %$^ %$^ %$^ %$^ %$^ FARKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Who is shifting the bloody magnets, Noddy?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, all very interesting but sacking Malthouse would be ridiculous, he is a proven coach with a very good record except on the biggest day in September.
I have a very big suspicion that people in high places at Collingwood understood that we werent in a position to have another tilt at the flag this year! So delisting the players that we did bar Heath, was of a long term view. Heath left because he wanted to go, he wanted the opportunities that would come at a bottom club like Carlton. I think Mick realised that he did something wrong in his days at WC and that was keeping middle age blokes on the list that will get them to finals but won't win a premiership, I think Leigh Matthews did it as well after 1990, kept the middle of the road players even though they were past it, trying to relive past glories.
Jason Cloke is going about his business in a lot better frame of mind than most of the year, and when his skills develop he will be a good solid player.
I dont know if any of you have watched Willy lately, but putting some of the younger guys into the senior team would be putting them at risk physically. I have forgotten what Shaw it is what but he played Willy two's the other week and was best on ground, he seems to have the skills but in reality he is at least a year off, he needs time to develop.
A question for you's all is do teams select under the Father son rule on talent or just the fact its nice to have former champions kids come to the club and give the place a nostalgic feel?

This is our problems as i see it.
1. We have too many passengers. Lonie, Didak, Cole, Lokan, J.Cloke aren't playing good enough football. They are all capable of playing good consistent footy but none of them just can't seem to get going this year.
2. Our kicking skills are woefull and we have too many clangers. Kicking for goal is still a problem, and this should have been ironed out 2 years ago, because we are still missing to many goals that should be kicked at AFL level! The clanger count against Carlton was 49-32. This is way too many mistakes especially against a team that ain't that good.
3. Tackling is poor. This year we are ranked 16th for tackles compared with being 1st last year.
4. We lack leg speed. The last 3 weeks we have had poor last quarters as we have been run over easily.
5. We don't get enough value out of Anthony Rocca. For a guy with his capabilities, he should be a much more damaging player. He needs to be kicking more goals instead of missing the easy ones that should be kicked at AFL level.
For the rest of the year i would play Mullins and Nixon in the seniors and consider promoting some other players. We know we can't make the finals, so the younger players should be given a go at senior level. As for some of the passengers in our side, well they have to lift over the next 2 weeks or some of them should be dropt.

Malthouse has done a FANTASTIC job to get a group of good (not great) players to play as a great team. The GF loss shattered them mentally and they are still scarred. You can see that they now doubt themselves and have no confidence. When Obree panicked rather than walked into an open goal in the last qtr, the players dropped their heads and Carlton lifted theirs.
I dont know if Mick or anyone can overcome that, I think it just needs time. The thing is that confidence can return at any moment.
Until it returns, you have to stick loyal. Yes you can critisize but if you want to carry on like a feral, piss off and barrack for someone else.

maybe we can take a leaf from carlton and let our players do the preperation this week it helped carlton what i would like to see is the lesser light players come out in the media and say yeah were playing crap
were going to show some fight for our supporters instead of malthouse, eddie, buckley rocca taking the hit from the media

how the hell can we let a 27 point lead get away and let carlton win by how much they did
every team know if u winning by 27 points u take a mark and take as much time as u can

Absolutely disgraceful performance right from the moment bucks left the ground. No passion, no desperation and no skill.
Stupid mistakes, like lonie kicking it to fevola from a kick in, woey had the ball smotherd from the kick in, these are unforgivable and going back to the same type of moronic play of 99.
Its about time the players were on performance based contracts. None of them seem to care if we loose, where is the pressure on malthouse form the media? You can't rest on 2 GF apperances for ever, I think that is part of the problem with boith the players and the coaching staff.
I paid $675 for legends memebrship this year, I feel ripped off. Come on pies have some heart!

Surely Didak MUST be played in the centre. MUST MUST MUST. Leaving him at starvation corner is killing him.
What is killing Didak is his effort and his continual lack of committment to put his body in, all the time tries to do dinky little kicks and toe pokes a couple of meteres away. Should forget and just attack the ball with both hands.
He has more ability than most and is in the same boat as Leon Davis, they should be put on notice that the most important part of their game is consistency. The way they play ie effort at the ball means they should never play in the same fwd line. If they continue to be players with heaps of potential as oppossed to realising it, then one should be traded.

Richard Cole is an imposter! He is pretending to be a footballer, i think he has conned many of us over the last 2 years! He is an ABOSOLUTE JOKE! Spineless, no skills and no heart. Drop him! Also We should drop O'Bree, Lonie and Cloke...and give Mullins, Nixon and McKee another go. We need to de-list Cole, McKee (if MM doesn't play him), Kinnear and O'Bree.
Maybe McKenna has been a bad influence, and losing Daniher and Fletcher in the coaches boxes. What is MM doing? Why does he continue to play Cloke in the forward line? Everyone knows he plays well in defence. We also need Lokan's run from half back. Lonie - this guy needs to be dropped, absolutely hopeless. I reckon a 10 year old girl could play better than him.
Cole is a dud!

Most of my favourite bands start with "M" - Mars Volta, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Midnight Oil, Misfits...except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard ~
