Just a question to anyone in general. Can anyone of you please tell me why Jack Crisp would pick up the ball, break a tackle run his near full measure inside our 50 ,directly in front of goal, with full head of steam, not an opponent within cooee of him and then passes to some midget in the pocket with McGovern standing right behind him, instead of kicking a Farking GOAL??? Which, by the way, was ANOTHER missed goal opportunity along with the half dozen missed set shots from inside 20 we managed to accumulate AGAIN!!

Cameron is useless, and Cox is past it.
We have try to recruit some KP forwards and backs in the rebuild.
Roughy and Howe will not be part of our next flag tilt.

Its the cattle, to use an old Mick euphemism; we are ridiculously short in the forward line and backline, literally and figuratively.
We can only work with what we have....Howe and Moore need to address the lack of defensive cohesion however, its a real concern

The best thing about tonight's game was..............actually, there was nothing good about tonight's game.
Sure, the effort was there, but Kennedy and Darling hardly touched the ball but when they got it they couldn't miss. We don't have goalkickers at present. Ollie Henry may become one but he fumbles too much, at present. Don't be critical of Miocek. He was almost a hero tonight. His marking in the last quarter was sensational. Darcy Moore's form is a real worry. He's played against good forwards 2 weeks in a row and done little. Yes De Goey and Adams were missed but so were Gaff, Shuey, Sheed etc.
On "First Crack" last Sunday David King said "Collingwood will play finals". He'll change his mind quickly. I do think we've improved but the process will be slow. There's a big gap between our top echelon and our young inexperienced players. We can't expect them all to gell instantly. Some of us (me included)got carried away with the first 2 games and 3 quarters of the third. Inexperienced teams by their very nature are inconsistent.
But we have to be competitive against Brisbane. They're a very good side but a bad loss would be very disappointing.

If this game showed anything it showed that we have a complete lack of depth.Take four or five of our best 22 out of the team, and we have absolutely no one to replace them.It also doesn’t help when you butcher chance after chance in the forward line. But I suppose that happens when you don’t recruit specialist forwards!

Witts you can appreciate, didn't want to play 2nd banana to Grundy.SteveH67 wrote:Never understood the reasoning behind letting Keefe and Witts go when we lacked a lot of height on our list.

Kudos to him for stepping up at GCS; FAIL to our numpties for giving him away for a bag of peanuts.
Letting Keefe go was a disgrace; ultimately it cost us a chance at 2019 flag, as he shutdown Mihocek pointless in the 2019PF.
I'm quite sure he wanted to stay, and wouldn't have cost us much more than Madgen in the cap. And that's not having a dip at Madgen either, simply the like-for-like replacement scenario we are left with thanks to Buckley's ineptitude.

This is a development year so let’s get games into Kruger, Johnson and even wilson to see what they are made of and also hopefully Dean when he is back on deck.
Tonight with Adams and Degoey out Pendleton had to play more midfield minutes. Lipinski and Elliott didn’t do much when they rotated through and I really didn’t expect Brown to pick up the slack. Sidey disappointed tonight hardly any influence.

Professional footballers only play for the paycheck and fame. No hurt when they lose.
Seriously play for the jumper and play for the club or piss off.
Even Pendles was talking to Kennedy and smiling straight after the siren though.
We always shook hands at the end of the game, but I never stood there and had a discussion with the opposition or shared a joke and had a laugh that's for sure.

We just need to keep going in the same way. Bigger bodies will come, four-quarter fitness will come, older players will clear out, and we'll attract a gun key forward and second ruck.
The direction is right. It's about holding the line without succumbing to frustration. With so many years of poor recruitment along with a histrionic club culture and a demoralising style of football, the progress in a short time is still as clear as day.
