Williamstown vs Port Melbourne - Sunday May 9

Post by Dale61 »

ROUND 6
Seniors 2:00pm, Reserves 11:10am
TEAC Oval, Port Melbourne

This Sunday Williamstown travel to Port Melbourne to take on the Borough in what will be a tough assignment. The Borough suffered their first loss of the season on the weekend, a 6 point defeat at the hands of Werribee.

The Seagulls will be fresh courtesy of the bye and will be looking to improve on their 2-2 win loss record, which sees the Seagulls currently occupy 9th position on the ladder.

Team leaders Troy West and Brad Lloyd are set to return which will strengthen the side that defeated Frankston in Round 4.

Dale, from what you've seen, how far do you think Brent Hall would be away from senior selection?

From what I've seen, he is still some time away. Hasn't yet run out a full game, and last week was his first after missing the previous two with general soreness (possibly due to his recovery from glandular fever).

Could get a agme or two in the latter half of the season.

An extremely disappointing day as both teams got beaten quite easily.

Reserves:
Will: ?.?.?? ~ 6.1.37 ~ 6.5.41 ~ 7.7.49
PM: ?.?.?? ~ 8.12.60 ~ 15.17.107 ~ 18.20.128

Seniors:
Will: 3.3.21 ~ 4.3.27 ~ 7.5.47 ~ 9.6.60
PM: 4.2.26 ~ 9.5.59 ~ 13.10.88 ~ 16.13.109

Goals: Williams 3, Morrison 2, Sheehan, Cranage, Lockyer plus the one I missed.
(MY) Best: Nixon, Maxwell, Williams, West, Theodore.

Injury news of note:
Reserves:
Zane Leonard played his first game, and by the time I got to the ground (half time of the reserves), he was on the bench with an ice-pack strapped to his leg. Not sure of extent of injury, but has possibly done his hammy again.

David Fanning: Limped off with what looked like a knee injury. Was having trouble walking at game's end.

Seniors:
Craig Smoker injured a hamstring.

Not much to look forward to when it will come to name the Collingwood side for next week. If anyone gets the nod, Nixon and Williams could be the most likely, Rhyce Shaw - not a chance in hell, Mullins and Shack are maybes, B. and H. Shaw - not likely. The other in line, and wouldn't be a surprise, is Tarks. However, lack of match conditioning could be the key factor.

Dale how did B.Morrison play?
Did he present himself well in terms of leading?
Is Maxwell a chance to play seniors in next couple of weeks?

Big Billy did all the things required as a leading forward, trouble was the delivery to him. His two goals were good reward for his efforts.

No chance for Maxie until he gets promoted off the rookie list.

Poor Zane. I certainly feel for him. As for Tarks, thats the best news I've heard for a long while! :)

Too bad the delivery wont get any better when he plays in the seniors.
Thanx for that Dale.

Got this from the Willi web site
http://williamstown.footballvictoria.co ... pg=results

Williamstown
Goals: Williams 3, Morrison 2, Cranage, Lockyer, Mullins, Sheehan
Best: Nixon, Theodore, West, Jarrad

We might see Williams, Nixon and Mullins in the black and white next week by the looks of this.
