Totally agree with Slayer. Most clubs at the moment have injuries to key players and are blooding new guys. It's a total cop-out at the moment to hear all this stuff from MM about only being interested in being on an upward climb. From where I'm looking, position 2 to 16 in 6 months ........hello!
Stop the excuses. We didn't trade because we assumed that our youthful list would be good enough. It isn't. That was a mistake guys. Be accountable please. I know it's been said to death.......but when there are so many players on our list with questionable skills, why the hell do you refuse to play a guy like Scotland who has those skills until he gets jack of it and asks to leave. We needed to top up on class from last year's effort but we didn't.

We are guranteed to give one goal to the opposition via a kick-out mistake every week. This week (and a few other games) it was Lonie's turn. WHY? You'll never see a Brisbane doing that sort of thing. Look back on every game this year, and we have done the same thing. Richmond, Western, Brisbane, Fremantle...

What's happened with our kick outs? From the best exponent to THE WORST! I know Lockyer and Buckley are huge losses in that department, but we have no options upfield from a kick out (it's so congested) and can't ever take the ball from one end to the other cleanly. Our offensive zone is pathetic...

...and don't get me started on our defensive zone. MM - YOU have a lot of questions to answer regardng this issue. Our zone, is, PATHETIC! Essendon took barely 20 seconds time and time again to take the ball the length of the field from a kick-out on ANZAC Day. And Carlton did the same - CARLTON! How did we constantly let a team like the Blues take the ball from one end to other without us touching it? Our players don't understand what to do in a defensive zone - it's so obvious!

A team who doesn't understand the SIMPLE CONCEPT of FRONT AND CENTRE will never succeed. Why don't we ever have a crumber (like Davis) running to Tarrant's leads to pick up the spillage? Once the ball hits the deck, tarrant has no support. I have brought this up every year and every year the same thing happens - no crumbers front and centre.

P.S. We deserved to win today, Carlton were rubbish, we got out to a lead representative of our dominance after half time, yet the umpires single-handedly influenced the outcome of the contest in the last quarter - no question about it. Macaburny is scum! (Lonie's and Clements' kicks from D50 in the 1st and 3rd quarter didn't help).

I disagree. We deserved to lose because we made way too many mistakes and didn't put in when we needed to in the last quarter. The umpires were crap but it doesn't excuse the way our team played.

Oh please, stop your bitching everybody. I told you we were had it weeks ago. You have to relise that we're the Bulldogs (2003) of 2004. At least will get a priorty pick. Anyway, it's soo boring watching Collingwood minus Buckley. Like watching grass grow. Maybe he should take this year off so prolong his career.

I thought I'd get over this empty feeling. I feel sick. I'm angry, depressed, sad and frustrated all at once. I'm still in shock hours after the game.

I've just finished watching the saints beat freo. The intensity they show at every contest is what we used to look like. We've lost that aggression at the ball, that willingness to work for each other. Where did it go? Is it a result of the GF last year? I think not....but I have no idea why it's not there anymore.

I'm afraid as much as I've backed the boys up previously I don't think the premiership is attainable for us this year.

Taz wasn't 100% so why play him. My head is all over the place at the moment so I assume my post will be too.
My oxygen is Collingwood. Without it I die.

We just didnt give Carlton enough respect!

They were harder and wanted the win more and when Leon kicked that goal in the last quarter we should have put them away. but no we just wanted to play kick to kick.

If we kept the passion we would be celebrating a win.

yes its porbably true we didnt give the Blues enough respect in the final quarter. But really, did they deserve more respect? NO. IT was a scrappy game all day. By the time we realised it was way too late. like MM said, it wasnt the final quarter that was dissaapointing, the whole game was of very ordinary quality.

P.S. McG is good at getting the ball but i hope he practices his kicking...

That performance was just insipid. Even when we were dominating we were still making stupid skill errors. However, what about Guy Richards!! True, he may not have had much opposition in the ruck, but he totally dominated. Did some good tackles too. Saw some good things from Swan and Walker. Unfortunately, it's been like this all season. Players like Licuria, Rocca, O'Bree (not counting last week), and Burns up until he got injured, they're having no impact. At least Woey and Neon played well, but not too many other senior players can hold their heads up.

we are absolutely pathetic, spineless wankers, who are sorry for themselves for losing two GF's booohoo...

Essendon don't make the GF every year but they play in finals every year and give themselves every opportunity to win it.

We've lost confidence and self belief. Get F"D!! that is a piss poor excuse for a team of individuals who get paid 3.5mill (I think that's our salary cap) a year.

play as a team and let's get to the finals stop puusy footing around....

you are disgraceful...
Are we ready for another tilt...

We are **** lickers.

Lonie is soft.

O'Bree doesn't want to play footy. He 90% responsible for the loss after missing that sitter in the 4th.... resulting in a carlton goal and momentum shift.

And exaclty why the F*** are we playing B Kinnear when he's hardly our future!!!!

As for Jason Cloke. If MM had half a brain he would have started Clement on Fevola, Cloke on Whitnall and played Shagger in the forward 50 who I'm tipping is a better shot at goal than when Jason goes up there.

I don't want to hear about Cloke being crap.... cos I will take a player with guts anyday over the likes of O'Bree, Lonie and Lokan who just isn't up to AFL standard & won't do the team things. I remember Cloke running back with the flight in the first quarter to mark a ball that would have resulted in a goal.

Anthony's form is starting to resemble his brother's at the same age.

FFS ppl, when it's all said and done, it is only a game.

However, if any other paid employee consistently performed at a level that was/is well below the standard that their pay packet required, they would be sacked immediately. With the 'Capuano Rule' now in place, the sacking of a player mid-season is not allowed, but surely, players can be put on notice in that their performances are well below the standard expected and their future with the club is now in jeopardy.
