Most of the war game articles out there are grim given the psychopath has the supreme advantage of not caring about anyone.

Any thoughts other than this turning into a wrestle for control over a long period of time? Should Ukraine's allies go harder right now to stop Putin gaining sufficient foothold to install a puppet regime in Kyiv? Perhaps that's what's already happening with the Polish fighter jet deal.

Part of me thinks greater military heft, and quickly, is needed to delay Putin so that the financial restrictions have time to do their thing. Better to bog him down sooner than later? Noble resistance won't mean much if he controls Kyiv.

I hate war and arms and everything about this. And you just know that's what the bastard is banking on.

Any thoughts?

^Yeah, the parallels are there. I read myself sick on the topic just now, so engaging an alternative is much appreciated. It's easy to hit a spate of grim articles. Geez, you do feel for people whose lives have been thrown into chaos, though.

The US has apparently rejected the Poland offer, I see, so status quo on keeping NATO at arm's length. Imagine taking responsibility for these things.

No, and nothing will, whether it be a ceasefire or further fighting. But there are hopefully pathways to ensure more people don’t die.

Got a message today from one of the people I know in Ukraine, so it was good to find out they're hanging in there. I had sent messages of encouragement to let them know people are behind them. It feels useless not doing more, although at least for once most countries including the UK are being proactive in the right direction.

I'm curious, why the banks?

Other theories I've heard previously is that the main behind the scenes antagonist pushing armed conflicts are the large corporations that financially benefit from wars, including but not limited to arms manufacturers. There's a number of corporations from mining to tech that produce items consumed by warfare.

In this instance though, it's Russia who has invaded Ukraine and everyone else while supporting Ukraine is holding back from actual armed conflict. So what do the banks have to gain?

There's actual attempts to discredit mainstream media floating around, apart from the standard wails against Murdoch.

Recently on Twitter and Facebook there was two (fake) tweets from CNN side by side saying how CNN had falsely reported the same person dying twice, 6 months apart in different conflicts, so don't trust CNN.

CNN never reported that person was dead, the name was made up, it never happened, but plenty of people shared or retweeted it saying "See, don't trust CNN or any mainstream media. They lie"

Anyway, the bombing of civilian targets takes this to a new level. A maternity hospital FFS. Women and babies.

Zero chance now of installing a puppet government, the people won't wear it. Putin will meet resistance every step of the way. His only option (apart from backing down which isn't happening unless there's a coup) will be to try to absorb it into Russia and apply his totalitarian rule on them too.

Apparently the worlds best sniper has arrived in Ukraine to help out against Russia.
