I reckon Pendles would be a very important part of Craig’s plan

McRae ain’t no fool and he knows the worth of Pendles

Yes that photo stunned me he looks like he’s hit the weights big time. His arms are huge. Made me go to the gym half an hour early today.

He is a lock for skipper again. There is no ready replacement. And they are not hitting the training track like he is.

The whole group are working their butts off as Fly has mentioned and Pendles would be a real inspiration to his youthful teammates

It will be his last year as captain but perhaps also as our second greatest player.

Personally, I don't think he's got another 18,200 seasons in him but he's been very good for a very long time, so who are we to say?

Probably saying this more in hope than with confidence but I feel he might have another two seasons (2022 and 2023) left in him , (if he is injury free) if he cements a half back flank position. He is fit enough to achieve this goal.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Not reading anything in to it

Just a bit of wisdom, he could be here today and gone tomorrow.

He is confirming he is here for now, and that's all anyone can guarantee.

Yeah, seems more like a "could get hit by a bus tomorrow" kind of comment rather than contemplating voluntary retirement - however he should be more media savvy to make a comment that is going to generate headlines like this:

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/ ... 3e9f087da2

The "THREE vice captains" part of the AFL headline is also a beatup since we had 3 last year and the year before...

The interesting part is Moore replacing Sidebottom as VC, which is in line with other commentary that he is in line to replace Pendlebury one day

And that we no longer have a leadership group outside the captains (Grundy and Roughhead had been included before)

I hope the Captain retires when he wants to, not forced to. Dane Swan was set to play for a few more years until he suffered a major injury.
