Projected to go a bit later, but the fastest player in the draft apparently.

Harvey Harrison
North Adelaide, SANFL / Tyndale Christian College
State: South Australia
Height: 182cm
Weight: 76kg
Date of Birth: 11/10/03
Small midfielder whose speed and attack on the contest has stood out this year at under-18s level. He is a prolific ball-winner, averaging 25.2 disposals in 17 matches this year, to be a shining light for his team. A super competitive and durable type, he's also very creative with his hands, sharp vision and awareness that helps him set up his teammates. Also had a taste of reserve level football this year, as well as representing his state at under-19s level against the Allies (he kicked two clever goals from his 14 disposals). Showed blistering speed at the NAB AFL Draft Combine to be the fastest player tested this year with his 2.85 seconds in the 20 metres, ranking him No.1 nationally.

Hopefully he is a terrific footballer who is athletic rather than the other way round. This way his athleticism will be a bonus and his speed a great asset.

182cm "small" midfielder that would have been a ruckman in his grandfather's day.

^ Of our 2021 AFL-team players, his height would make him taller than Elliott, Josh Thomas, Callum Brown, Bianco, Josh Daicos, Adams, Sidebottom, Noble, Quaynor and Levi Greenwood. So that makes him just about "median" height for a Collingwood senior player.

Of our 2021 senior-listed mids, he'd be shorter than Macrae, McInnes, Poulter, Pendlebury, Sier, Tyler Brown, JDG and Rantall*.

He's a whisker shorter than Nick Daicos - and both are a whisker or two shorter than Peter was when he played.

^^ was thinking along similar lines :)
10cm taller than Blair. +14 on Caleb. Same height as Tom Liberatore. Not exactly a jockey
Not every mid needs to be Bont or Cripps

I always thought 'small midfielder' was more of a reference to how they played, rather than physical size alone.
I imagine ducking in and out of contests, agile, not so much of a 'bull' to bash and crash in and win the ball on physicality.

There’s nothing overly wrong with being bereft of height as a midfielder because you don’t get caught out one on one in a marking contest with an opponent very often. The lack of height kills you when you’re a player whose role depends on beating your opponent in the air on a regular basis. Ie back six or front six all day.

Clearly tracking well to be included in the emergencies. Look forward to the VFL reports.

With what I see as approx. 15 spots in our 22 secure, I look forward to competition for spots to emerge over the coming seasons. Great opportunities for our developing youngsters.

Congrats to the kid
I noticed, and I'm sure many of you noticed too...
He bobbed up a couple of times and snagged goals, and in each occasion I first thought it was Ginnivan.
And then in practice, I noticed he was involved in passages, and I thought 'He's doing a bit'
Of course, my vision is hardly anything to go by on, but by his inclusion in the emergencies, clearly he is doing better than just a bit !.

Just wondering how much stock we should put in the emergencies. Given they almost never are required, it could be used as an internal 'reward' for effort, without it necessarily meaning they are the next cab off the rank.
Happy to be set straight - but my point is its an inconsequential statement to make.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...
