Port vs Pies Post match discussion

Post by melissa »

Okay I admit, i am biased when it comes to Dids. O'Bree was great though. And Cam Cloke being out there seems to make Jase play better. Bout time Licca had a better game. He always does well against Port though. Totally killed Burgoyne. Was it him that broke Carr's jaw? Missed that. Cole and Woey could do with a couple of weeks in the seconds though. Target practice.
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!

we would be laughing the laugh of victory if it wasnt for two injuries to our best 2 players, burns and johnson.... both early.both costly....

ah well... johnno will be right for next week...shame about burns though... we get bux back, and lose burns.... we can never have our full side out there.. big win this week...

Didak (along with Richards, King, Cole, Lokan and Swan) were specifically singled out by MM in his after-match comments as players who failed to produce and need to lift if this team is to improve

but the day we **** that ****head cole off from the team will be the day our team improves. i cant believe hes still in the seniors. the clanger king. does he have forward thinking? just kicks it in the general direction of our goals, which isnt good enough, it goes down the oppositions throat 80% of the time.
FFS, your negativity is starting to shit me big time!!!

If you can't watch a Collingwood game and come up with nothing but faults all the time you should start watching netball or start supporting Richmond.

Cole gets out there and has a go. He needs to improve but then who doesn't? When was the last time you had a red hot go?

Get with the program and behind our players instead of looking for faults all the f***ing time.

just think... if burns didnt get injured, with obree and licka and brodie all playing well today, McGough would probably not have his place in the midfield...

Cloke Junior was knocked out playing for Willi a month ago. We need to look after him for a while with another big knock to his head today. Any more and he may end up as silly as his old man....;)

labrooy - Cole can't tackle for all the amount he tries..he goes too high every time

sherrife - McGough should be kept in the middle and played there for the next 15 years...he has the potential to be Greg Williams

good effort by the boys today and well done to Cheesy O'Bree

Every Collingwood supporter should be proud of the effort we put in today.

O'Bree, if he could hit a target he would be back. That 50%+ of his possies went to port nulifies his 38 game haul.
Lets pray we don't win too many more now to ensure we get high picks. It will be hard on us, the supporters, but we have to use the system to enable us to be competative in 2005.
I agree with you about O'Bree, we were 3 players short with injuries and O'Bree may as well have been playing for the opposition half the time but having said that, he didn't do too bad the other half.

But I certainly will NOT be praying that we don't win too many more - in fact I am looking forward to winning lots more.

I'm sure Port are sh*t scared of the Pies - they should be - they were almost beaten today by a considerably undermanned team.

It was good to see Licca doing better today and McGough did well again but It's a bummer about Burnsy getting injured - he could be out for up to four weeks and we really needed him today.

Anzac Day may have been last week but the Collingwood team that took the field today showed plenty of fighting spirit. To go into this game without Bucks Taz Fraser and lose Burns, Johnson and Cloke during the game and lose to a supposedly top 4 team on their home ground by less than 3 goals is a pretty good bloody effort. When you compare it with Essendons effort at footy park we look pretty bloody good.

You gotta love McGough as he really has a passion for the game and knows how to win the football. Swan is also fitting in nicely and Richards tried hard all day. Lonie provided some good run and hopefully that will continue. Obree played his best game for the year and ran his guts out.

I am quite surprised that Kinnear has copped such a bagging considering no one thinks he is that good anyway? I was much more disappointed in Woewodin as i thought he had a shocker. His tackling and chasing were disappointing and he missed a sitter of a goal running in. From that Port went and kicked a goal prior to half time.

Burns will be out next week which is a huge loss but we should get Bucks and Tarrant back.

I still think we can make the top 8 as we are getting better with each game. Three losses have been against Brisbane at the Gabba, Port at Port and the Dockers. Most teams will struggle to get victories against those teams particuarly at the Gabba and Footy Park.

MPF,

As I said Cole makes a lot of mistakes, but at least he goes hard at it. He needs to work on the way he tackles (the second one he was pinged for wasn't all that high).

My comments refer to the total negativity of one particular poster. He could have mentioned the improved performances of Licuria, Lonie, Didak, O'Bree, Swan etc, the excellent performances of Clement and McGough or even the fantastic effort of being totally undermanned with Burns and Johnson off the ground but still running one of the premiership favourites right to the line. But no, he much rather picks out a negative and focuses on that. I often wonder if that particular poster is a fair dinkum Collingwood supporter or someone else on here to troll.

Who hit Carr?, I did not see it. All reports say they will be reported and being a player wearing Black & White no doubt they will be suspended.

It was Licuria who was kicking the ball at the time and his hand connected with Carrs jaw in the motion of kicking the ball.

i agree, but with obree, licka, brodie, buckley, and burns to come in at 3 quarter time the way he has been, who will be shafted for mcgough to become a regular? or will brodie return to being a forward pocket/flanker?

i was just posing a question, trying to get a positive out of a negative.

We really needed Didak or Leon to be crumbing and sneaking a couple of goals yesterday.

Good Effort by most but still a couple of passengers in our team.

They should be taking the opportunity and really standing out as McGough has done the last 2 weeks.

Cole will get better and better, and needs to be in the Collingwood side, not Williamstown for that to happen.

Don't know why Kennear was in our team this week.

But poor Cameron....that was a hard hit, does anyone know if he is ok??
