yep actually got me worried a bit now. IF we had invested time into him we may have missed out on some others. We still have at least 1-2 spots to fill.

Not sure but we lost our head of Academy / development so with Bolton/Leppa Im not sure we need someone as senior. Just a really strong development program and head especially with all the Kids we have.

There is some suggestion that once we pick up Daicos on draft night we may look to trade our future first rounder back into this years 1st round, with St Kilda and Essendon among the clubs keen to deal.

Im actual open to trading our first next year - which clubs will expect to be very early pick - for another first round pick this year. Thats IF we can get the pick inside top 12 ( which will slide to 15).

Essendon and Saints have said they are looking to draft rather than traded players so not sure if thats correct.

For me, the team most likely is GWS again. They would use pick 2 and potentially trade 13 given how deep with kids they are ATM. Maybe Freo if they get pick 6 from blues they will have 6 and 8 but both these picks are a lot of points and a future first is still speculation.

If true then King is not interested. Shame as is the ideal get.

That strategy is a genuine option and it really comes down to what the Pies likely think will be in the first six in the 2022 draft versus what’s available between say 6 - 13 in this draft. If they rate Jye Amiss as a KPF, then I would like to see them try to swap first rounders and buy into 2021. Amiss would likely fall between 7 - 11 on the night. I’m not convinced we should be fussed about targeting anyone other than Amiss under that strategy. No one is raving about the next available mids being anything particularly special once you get past J H F and Callaghan as the first live picks.
The key to this strategy is not going into points deficit after having given up your 2022 first rounder, otherwise you then enter the 2022 draft very late, which is far from ideal in a list build ( also assuming we traded at least one future out for either Lipinski or Krueger )

The other club who will have more picks than they can handle is Richmond. Four in the top thirty odd and more picks to come for C C J and compensation for Chol. They could easily roll them up, get closer to the pointy end and then still trade something out to store away for 2022

^ agree.
I think given the qty of kids we brought in last year plus Daicos hopefully a Dibb and Lipinski this year, its probably best to keep our first next year for trade or another young player.

I keep saying King is gettable and wants out. If no-one can get the deal done this year he will be up for grabs next year.
