Sound bite optics usually are

I think there’s a big ? Over whether his follow up was a clarification, or a revision. As a supporter I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt but can understand that people outside the club might see it differently. And if they’re right, then it should have been kept internal - as he did with his view on Eddie, Bucks and a number of other recent issues

Another reason he should not have posted about it...

Why get involved in something unrelated to Collingwood?

At least our ex-coach waited until he became an ex-coach before posting about COVID testing...

These are own goals. Just ban the players and coaches from media and all will be fine.

Im so sick of the media spinning things around.

They've done the same today saying Eddie is fuming about not going to WA when he in fact said he respects the decision.

They reported Pendles is looking to leave and then he had to clean it up the following day.

The media sucks.

Liked McRae's comments on Pendles today.

He said Pendles has a "big part to play" and is an "example of all other players" to the "level of professionalism and detail" required to be a good player.

Used him as an example of the standards required when he was assistant coach at other clubs.

He also said he will be "integral" in developing and mentoring the young group.

Glad he did. It would have been ugly to have our coach espousing anti-lockdown type views. Racism from a president was bad enough.

^ Yeah, the AFL would've been unhappy if a sitting coach had aired doubts like that.

It's kinda scary though. His post referred to his "logical brain"... Hmm... I don't want folks not to think for themselves, but if they then come to strange conclusions, they should pause and ask whether something's wrong with their argument.

Yes, agree Jezza. Really strong comments about how he views the importance of Pendles' role going forwards. I really loved the way he also answered the question about perhaps transferring the captaincy away from Pendles as the mark of a new era. His rejection out of hand of such a move, and his intent to honour Pendles' own views as to where he [McCrae] would base himself, was exactly the kind of response I wanted to hear. He will be firm and make harsh decisions when necessary, but he will also listen to the beliefs and opinions of the players. Clearly, his view is that if he does not respect the players' views, then the players' won't accept the harsh decisions either. I think that is so much the kind of coaching philosophy that our young team needs.

I feel he and Craig will be very, very important to our rise and even if Scott were to finish playing before Craig’s coaching stint he could have a role if he puts off going elsewhere to develop his coaching

Yes most are scared of people that think for themselves, Bucks barely said SFA and actually had a very good point, but hey, keep watching the news they will tell what to think next, and how to act.
Having imaginary freedoms removed is great for no reason according to the news.
But its ok we can watch more meaningless sport to distract ourselves.
