Cheesy O'Bree must have photos of Mick and a sheep to keep in the side for so long without getting a kick.

1 out 4 in that leaves another 3 outs to be determined. How are emergencies determined must they come from those listed on the interchange or can they be any listed player?

If any chosen player can become an emergency then O'bree and Shaw may still be dropped.

If only those nominated as I/C can become emergencies then from the listed interchanges (Davis, King, Kinnear, Lokan, Lonie, Mullins, Walker) one can assume that Davis, Lokan and Lonie are safe leaving 1 position to be decided b/w king, kinnear, mullins and walker. I would think that Walker/Kinnear/C.Cloke are alternatives rather than complements and that if C.Cloke is in, Walker and Kinnear won't be. That would leave the last position to be decided as a choice b/w king and mullins.

As to Richards being dropped, without Primus, Port aren't overly strong in the ruck and if Brogan is injured and unlikely to play their ruck would be distinctly weak. If this is so, Malthouse may have thought that given that we would easily win in the ruck without Richards, why not go for another runner.

Interchange: M. Lokan, R. Lonie, D. King, L. Davis, B. Kinnear, L. Mullins, T. Walker

I'm thinking for some stupid reason Kinnear will get the nod ahead of Mullins, King and Walker.
Get back on top.

No mag'3, just still remains to be seen if he can make it at AFL level. With all the injuries it's a perfect opportunity to try him again, since maybe this year is his last chance.

Based on the Frankston V Williamstown game Walker should get the nod over Kinnear. Walker was accountable all game. Kinnear only played in patches.

Mullins deserves another game, he had 32 touches for Williamstown last week.

I personally don't think Kinnear's looked good since our last game in 2002 (against the Bulldogs where he collected three Brownlow votes, if memory serves me right). I used to hope hard for this guy thinking he just needed time, but I truly think it's passed him at this stage.

Walker did rather well last year against Sydney up at Telstra Stadium playing at FF, if Tarrant doesn't come back in, I don't see why couldn't try him there again (especially if Kinnear is our alternative).

I thought he deserved a shot against Essendon. 13 touches in your debut game's nothing to balk at, his dismissal whilst keeping Shaw in was a bit of a concern, regardless, you're right. Wet conditions would suit him, and he should get another shot.

Kinnear should never play

Post by melissa »

Well, Nick, I know you said Kinnear should never play but it doesn't look like there is much choice out there. Our lack of depth has been exposed since Bucks and Taz were injured. I am not real big on Benny either but since Scotto and Rupe were dumped (and who the hell was behind that decision?!) it's either play someone who has experience or try a new guy out. Personally, I'd go for Kinnear. I've had enough of Mick's experiments to last me a lifetime and it's only round six. Go Pies! On another note, I think we have a shot at this. If you remember from 2002, Bucks didn't play, Taz had little impact on the game, Leon shone like neon, Licca had 40 touches and Ben Johnson affected that tackle on Peter Burgoyne that I reckon just about saved the game. They were given little chance to win, were lowly underdogs, went into it with a nothing to lose attitude and surprised everyone. They can do it again.
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!

By the way, I meant to address my last post to scooby not nick. Sorry, nick. Was half asleep. Should go to bed. But will probably drink more coffee instead. Carn the Pies.

Richmonds win makes this game against Port an even more important game...
