Yep the Geoff Boycott philosophy. Play within your limitations.Mr Miyagi wrote:i actually agree with you 100%, Haff!Haff wrote:Adams with a decent outside mid around him is a jet. Beast at the contest. When he has to play both inside and outside he battles. He should be limited to hand balling and kicking it 50.

The loss of Pendles from our midfield, both since he was injured, and throughout this year in terms of age related decline, can't be underestimated. Tay needs to be complemented with some fast/elusive outside mids who can take off with his incredible hard ball gets. Atm, we don't have any. We gave two potential ones away: Adz and Stephenson. Tay has been bearing the inside burden virtually alone recently due to no other inside mids being available (not sure what ever happened to Sier) and I am sure has been playing while suffering the consequences of his injury.
His disposal has been disappointing, but the point is as others have mentioned, he should not be the one frequently feeding the ball inside 50. He can't do everything.

Bloody hell, some other nitwit said we should off load Maynard, now Tay gets bandied around, and this rate, we will have no senior players left at all. Give me strength.
Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

I agree with this post. He's a heart and soul guy, who (like all players) has his limitations. Hopefully theres a way to utilise his skill at the contest and ensure there are others around who can provide the polish. I like him - hope he's not offered up.Magpietothemax wrote:The loss of Pendles from our midfield, both since he was injured, and throughout this year in terms of age related decline, can't be underestimated. I cringe everytime I see him kick a 45 degree pass into the middle of the ground, expecting it to go straight to the opposition. He isn't going to get better, but like Grundy, has absolutely no trade value because no other team would want him. Stuck with both of them I'm afraid, new coaches do not fix terminal skill deficiencies

After the year they have had, i am sure the last thing ANY AFL players would want to do is sit back and read what a bunch of armchair critics think.MJ23 wrote:geeze I really hope our Admin ignore all social media. I mean Im sure they are smart enough that they do.

You know how players have to lock up their phones during games? Nicksters think it’s bad now, imagine what it’d be like if we trade or retire all of Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Adams.Piesnchess wrote:Bloody hell, some other nitwit said we should off load Maynard, now Tay gets bandied around, and this rate, we will have no senior players left at all.
