I don't think he'll get more than a week, and he may not even get that.

I only saw it once or twice but to me there didn't appear to be any malice and it was just a misplaced block. The tribunal may argue reckless but from memory the player sustained no injury and no blood was drawn which will be in Bennys favour.

It wouldn't suprise me with this insane tribunal structure if he gets two weeks, but realistically I think he should either get one or be cleared.

Dissapoiting for it to happen to our form player. Luck is against us.

A good effort today probably a honourable loss.
POSITIVES
- J. CLOKE found the footy today
-Mcgough played well maybe play him in the centre for the next 3 weeks
-didak played played well
-Cam cloke played ok for his first game
-Cole was good his disposal was good
NEGATIVES

-rocca...he is a good player but he does some stupid things which are costly to the team especially when were in a position to challenge essendons score.
-who was on rioli every kick out and defensive rebound rioli was on the end of it.
-Shawry is shellshocked at the moment i think he can play, play him on the ball at willy for a month then bring him back
-obree i have been a big fan of his but he did'nt deliver today i was disapointed he probably needs to go back to willy for a month to he has had his chances.Mullins might come back.
-Lonie was quiet we need his run from half back more

If we don't have 3 wins from 8 games prefer 4w-4l we are in trouble
But i have got a funny feeling that we will beat port next week

can i ask a question....
who writes the bloody match reviews on afl.com.. they put rocca in the best.. by far not his best game....and players like woewoden and didak get a mention before johnson and the likes... i think they need to look at a new journo recruiter..

cheers

Hmmm Cam??

I think I recall Lloyd kicking 2 goals 6 points last week against Carlton. Lloyd is only good indoors under the roof!! He definitely did NOT kick 8 goals last week.
Life is very short and there's not time for fussing and fighting my friends!

Mick will dump McGough as soon as he has a 5 minute flat patch like he has for the past two seasons cause he just doesn't like him.

McGough is not one of Micks favourite players

not like OBree who can get no kicks for 2 years and still get a game every week

as soon as Mark McG has a flat spot and goes 10 mniutes without getting a kick, Mick will bench him and have him in the Magoos the next week...

as he has for the last two years..

McGough hardly gets a chance

I still think if he had played in the Grand Final two years ago when it was wet we would have won.

Well i have read the post match comments here and reckon they aren't the thoughts of all the pies fans sitting near us. They were very angry. Fed up with Malthouse giving players like Rhys Shaw another chance to fail and putting up with the likes of O'Bree, Jason Cloke, Woewodin, Lonie,Holland, with their inconsistent efforts week in week out.

I am not sure what to think, but I do know we wasted trade chances last year thanks to Malthouse and his loyalty approach. Look I admire loyalty, but it is a big business and losses cost.

Malthouse must stop playing Shaw and immediately.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

Dr Alf Andrews wrote:Much better performance than I expected. Easily our best for the season so far ... but nowhere near good enough.

Nevertheless, some good signs. For almost three quarters we were right in it.

Great to see McGough back. He looked like he could have been anything in his first couple of games ... and he's done nothing since ... until today. Great game
Has done nothing since cos he hasnt been picked...should have played the 2002 granny, his 30+ possessions compared to the Davis twins combined 3 would have seen Brisbane with 27+ less and a premiership for us instead of them. Malthouse has his pets: Rupert and Stinky unfortunately are not on the list

It's been happening for years... opposition floods our forward line, but we allow theirs to stay free and open. In 3rd q we killed them in midfield, attacked again and again to flooded forward line - then they get an occassional inside 50 and score a goal nearly every time. That is what killed us.
The formula is simple - if they flood, you have to flood them back or they have a huge advantage. [IT even happened in the 02 gf - many times Lynch left one-out with Wakes in goal square - Matthews would never allow Rocca or Taz to be left one out in goalsquare with no other lions nearby. Of course that is why C1's suspension was so tragic because he would have filled the hole and we would have won.]
People are talking about that goal at the end of 3rd q as being a breaking point but that's how they got most of their goals that q.
WE get flooded so obsess about how to break through the flood, meanwhile leaving their forward line open so they get easy goals on the rebound like training runs. Instead we should accept that if they flood it's going to be a defensive game and FLOOD BACK!!!!!!

Please tell me there's another AFL coach that allows this to happen, then I'll feel that tiny bit better.

Good point Bokka, but if we could actually get the ball in the forward 50 a bit quicker maybe they wouldn't have time to flood. I'm sick of seeing the ball chipped around the wing and by the time it gets to HF they already have their defence set. Then they get the rebound and the balls back down the other end, and then they either kick a goal or it just starts all over again.

AT least they started to move it faster forward at times yesterday - but that chipping around wings/flanks is what I'm talking about with obssessing on how to break the flood. Better and simpler tactic is to bomb it as close to goal as possible to give some chance of a goal - Rocca is one of the best in the league contested marks in crowded situation - and in the meantime be preparing for the rebound by getting more numbers down back. Also players are afraid to bomb it in after getting lots of easy rebound goals kicked against them, so that makes them chip it fearfully around even more - if they knew there were numbers down back they'd feel more confident becuase much fewer rebound goals would be kicked.

ACCCOUNTABILITY...

Too many not willing to push to a free player, noticed Cole pushing forward, ball rebounded no support in pushing to his player. Lonie and Lokan suppossed to be quick, letting lumbering Essendon players lead them to the ball for easy chest marks.

Hope Obree has a Melways to find his way to Willi.

Richards will be ok, not ready yet.

Cam looks like he will have a dig, why not rotate Rocca, Fraser and Cam through middle, and yes we have to bring Steve McKee back in.

Took the first steps on Sunday and had a dig, now for 4 quarters having a go.
