And if we won the game by a lousy point youd bejumping for joy on here hey i bet you would. So, you would rather a massive annihilation than a one point loss, jeezus, NO you are not very bright at all. Im as disappointed as anyone, but i can see positives, like our kids an our backline.Sure we made errors, but Port are supposedly a top four team, so to only scrape in by one point, they must have made a lot of clangers too, how come thier forward line only managed 8 goals too ????? for the whole damn game ? ???? [/quote]Piesnchess wrote: I wanted us to be competitive, and i got that, in spades, had a red hot go, but its heartbreaking to lose by a lousy stinking point, second time against a Finals bound team. Some fans here going off half cocked as if we lost by 111 points, as the Saints did, how would they like a thrashing like that ?? Least we had a dip, against a quality side, and our kids are coming along nicely, Poulter looks a gem.
You are trying to talk sense to a poster who is only interested in wanting Buckley sacked. Now. Mid season. And of course when confronted it’s deny deny deny. No real stuff to cope with adversity. As for me I thought it was a much improved effort. I excited to see that a few youngsters performed better than they had been.
Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine!

Nobody cares how much the least successful team in the history of the league lost by, unless they’re playing Collingwood on the dayPiesnchess wrote:Guess you would rather lose by 111 points as the Saints did hey genius ??

Oh please stop. We play the most boring brand of football. We’re not s@d s@cks, just over this crap game plan and style of football. Some of us actually want the club to succeed and know that keeping Bucks as coach is insanity. You keep being happy with mediocrity, I want success.Lazza wrote:Oh TP you are my kind of supporter. Second one point loss for the season.(:
Looking forward, it was a real positive that half our goals were kicked by players under 10 games. Well done McCreery and Poulter.
The team never quit
I thought we were going to be smashed
Callum should have kicked that
De Goey needs to work harder or smarter
The backward kicking cost us the game so over that crap
That said WHE was better noble brilliant Q and roughy great game Grundy earned his money lovin Beau and paulter great future
No negs from me tonight, I’m disappointed but I still took 600 shots! Cheers Go Pies and I’ll dare to believe that we just might not looked foolish next week
go. Bloody S-d S-cks. I for one was a extremely proud of their efforts.

Yep, precisely. You have nailed it. Satisfaction with mediocrity, unwillingness to challenge the status quo are two of the main factors why our club finds itself in the current crisis. Add to that incompetence in list management, coaching methodology and team building expertise, and you have the full picture. The game today shows that there is plenty of talent and potential on our list. I don't believe our current ladder position truly reflects the standard of our team. But Bux is clearly not the man to get the best out of this team.schuey07 wrote:

This sums us up perfectly. The bolded part has been happening since 2014. How can people not see it and how has it not been addressed by our coaches.mudlark wrote:Going off "Half Cocked" is just utter garbage. We kicked 5 of our goals in 9 minutes of footy. First 3 goals came in the first 7 minutes and our last 2 came in a 2 minute flurry. Another 110 minutes elapsed and we kicked 3. We are coached to play crap like passing sideways, backwards and every other which other than FORWARD. DeGoey took mark early in the last on the wing and McCreery was streaming goanward in the forward line and DeGoey kicked sideways ,we lost the ball and Port scored. Most of ports goals came from our mistakes and just about every team in the league springboard OUT of our forward line and it has been like this for years. If Josh Thomas is the inspiration on keeping the ball in our forward line then I must not be able to see it.This was the same guy who let Daniel Rich get 16 last qtr kicks against the Lions and deliver the final kick that saw us sunk by a point again. I say BOLLOCKS!!!Piesnchess wrote:I wanted us to be competitive, and i got that, in spades, had a red hot go, but its heartbreaking to lose by a lousy stinking point, second time against a Finals bound team. Actually, I don't think there was heaps wrong with how we played the game today......we actually could've lost by heaps more had we abandoned all caution and played riskier football. Why? Because we are presently lacking enough top talented players to benefit from fast ball movement when the opposition ups their pressure (as the top teams will always do).
In retrospect (always the more clear view ), the worst errors were those made at the selection table on Thursday ie selecting both Brown brothers and JT in the same team and not including another tall forward to keep Alir occupied.

No our game plan lost us the game. We don’t have blowout losses, but you don’t win games kicking such a low score week in, week out. The reason we lost was in the coaches box and the lack of ideas when things don’t go according to our one dimensional script. Nothing has changed since 2014, we still get scored on the counter attack, to use a soccer term. We clog it in our forward line it stays there for some time and then the opposition get the ball out with fast movement on the counter attack and score. It happens every time. So over watching the same crap that I first noticed seven years ago.PyreneesPie wrote:Actually, I don't think there was heaps wrong with how we played the game today......we actually could've lost by heaps more had we abandoned all caution and played riskier football. Nathen Buckley looks like a coach that is really stuck for ideas and it shows when the other teams start to claw their way back.schuey07 wrote:No our game plan lost us the game. Yeah, I grant that Port players cleared it too easily out of our forward line in the last quarter. That could be due to a lack of sharking talent in the forward line and also having JT and the Brown brothers simply clogging it up down there, when more astute players would hover around the 50m arc to block the run out.schuey07 wrote:No our game plan lost us the game.
