rain, sun, injuries, hird, lloyd, etc. All irrelevant for the Pies. The fans just want to see 100% commitment, effort and hardness and if that happens and we still lose then so be it. Contrary to general belief our boys can play excellent football and will at some stage this year, lets just hope it starts in the biggest home and away game of the year.
Buon Giorno

Match Preview:
My Team for Sunday:
B: Wakelin, Prestigiacomo, Clement.
HB: Johnson, J.Cloke, Lonie.
C: Licuria, Mullins, Woewodin.
HF: Didak, Rocca, Holland.
F: C.Cloke, Fraser, Swan.
R: Richards, Burns, McGough.
INTER: Mullins, Lokan, King, Nixon.
EMERG: O'Bree, Williams, B.Shaw.
IN: C.Cloke, Nixon, McGough.
OUT: Shaw, O'Bree, Williams.
In the biggest day on the football calender bar grand final day, the ANZAC spirit should help get the Pies over the line. The match is crucial to Colingwood getting over a form slump. Nothing lifts a side more then beating the Bombers and if the Magpies don't win today, their season could well slip down the drain. On currant form, the bombers should win comfortabley. But form doesn't matter when both teams cross that white line. Collingwood can win. And here's how they'll do it.
The biggest key to this match belongs in the hands of James Hird. Stop Hird, and your well on the way to victory. Expect Paul Licuria to go to Hird early on. Licuria has been down on form and a good performance could lift his spirt and his confidence. When Hird drifts forward, expect to see in form defencer James Clement to be his minder. No Magpie person will forget what Hird did to us last year as the Dons cut us to shreads. That fact won't be lost on an Magpie who takes the field on Sunday. Simon prestigiacomo will get first crack at Lloyd while Wakelin will man up on Scott Lucas. Ben Johnson has had a brilliant season to date so do be surprised if you see a player such as Mark Alvey go to Johnson to quell his rebound from defence. It's time for both Mick Malthouse and Json Cloke to make a stand. Where does Cloke play? He is best suited to CHB and will have to play his tighest football to keep a spot in the side. Through the middle, the Magpies need to excert their dominance here. If fit, Peverill will be matched up on Burns while McGough and Misiti will go head to head. Woewodin will match up on Mercuri and Luke Mullins, in only his second game, will be following Marc Bullen. Bullen is a dangerous and underrated player who constantly slips under opposition teams guards. In the ruck, young Guy Richards and Josh Fraser will tag team against Matthew Allan and David Hille. This will be an interesting battle, as both rucking combonations are very similar in age bar Allan at this stage and it will be interesting to see how Richards copes. Cameron Cloke comes in for his first match and will take the forward line along with Anthony Rocca and Josh Fraser. Fleacher will go to Rocca while Wellman will go to Fraser. Mark Bolton could be matched up on Cam Cloke and it will be interesting to see the two former Eastern Rangers going at each other. Didak should be taken by Welsh while Brodie Holland will be followed by Dean Soloman.
Put simply: We need a victory to lift spirits and momentum. All the talk so far has been of doom and gloom. Lets change that. Pies by 8 points!

Great review, but I doubt Shaw and O'Bree will be dropped. Shaw was good in the 2nd half against Freo. At least he gave us some run off the backline with Coley.
O'Bree has to stay in, there are no other options.
I agree Williams will be dropped, I think Cam Cloke might get a game this week.
McGough could play, but his defensive side is a worry. Always performs on Anzac day though.
Lonie should play CHF and Rocca in the square.

- Lonie would get torn apart from hird.. absolutely dominated.. i think we need to put woey back as a tagger on hird..
- Lloyd will also be a huge problem, with wakelin out, and presti really sucking of late.. we will have to drop cloke as a spare man in defence in front of lloyd. (only job clokey can do properly).
- We have to watch out on their new youngster Ricky Dyson... looks the goods, and very quick..gotta give someone like shaw or cole a go on him.
- Ben johnson will be our match winner if he performs, probably play on cupido (if picked). Cupido has no defenseive skills so expect alot of runs from the backline from johnno into space..
- Cloke, Obree, Shaw & Williams should all play but are all on their last chances, if they dont perform, drop them back to willy..
- And whats the deal with C.Cloke, all the hype.. he hasnt done anything special to get a senior call up..
My tip...bombers by 28 pts... (cant rely on a handful of players each week. eg. Clement, Johnson... they are the only players i can think of having a consistent year. )

I don't think that Burns will be playing
I don't think that Scotty Burns will be fronting, how long does it take to get over a knee injury?
I still reckon Rocca got that goal
We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule
But you're my piece of the rock
And I love you CC

Lica won't be on Hird.
Lica won't be on Hird.
Since the Doggies game all the other teams have seen how weak Lica is overhead at marking and spoiling. This alos stood out in the Dockers match last week.
MM will have to play Lica in the FP or we will be in deep trouble.
Bombers were the first side I saw (about 3 years ago) at capitalizing on weaknesses and this is something the players work out on the ground.
If Lica picks up Hird - Hird will immediately go to FF or the FP and Lloyd will rotate through CHF.
After seeing Lica not able to spoil Garlick I cannot imagine how bad he would do against Hird.
I expect Clement or Lonie to go with Hird.
