This is a damn joke. Kubteddy put his foot in front of Keane who was watching the ball. As for Kelly I said this would be the result in the matchday call as WCER would play the race card. This sets a very bad precedence. Anyone who jumps off the ground and bumps abd causes serious damage will appeal if rubbed out and will probably have to be given the benefit of the doubt, Weak as piss MRP.

Rough conduct, negligent, JDG had his arms pinned by another player so couldn’t protect himself. Also didn’t even have possession of the ball.

The club’s also facing a sanction for not putting their empty water bottles in the recycling bins.

If it's any consolation Essendon is playing in a lake at the Gabba and Brisbane is thrashing them. Hopefully Essendon won't recover in time to play us.

GO

Elliott long term
Adams long term
Howe long term
JDG??

Why does this happen most years?
Because like the Dallas Cowboys there's a black cat running around this franchise. Or Buckley is a Jonah. Has he ever won a flag at any level of footy?
You don’t know much about footy. It’s clear. Undeniable.

Respect your right to express your view on Bucks. I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.......and disrespectful to a genuine champion and loyal Collingwood person.

They were missing about 5 of their best 22, including most of their midfield.

Rubbish, we lost two of our best players, and then went down on rotations, they came back a bit, but that knocked the shit out of us. We also had both Tay and Elliott out too, dont forget that. I want to see those ageing Eagles minus Kennedy, Darling, Gaff, Shuey, Natinnu, Hurn in a couple of yrs, lets see them then hey. :o
Are you even aware that Shuey & Hurn didn’t play last night? Along with Liam Ryan (goes ok), Elliot Yeo & Mark Hutching who usually tags Sidebottom.

Well said.

The injuries didn't help our confidence, but the tide was turning before Howe's injury.

Who gives a shit, u lose two vital players during the friggin game, and upsets the whole kit an kaboodle, no rotations, hardly, we had four key playrers missing on their own pissing ground, genius. :o

Ok we need to be factual here about the lose of the players
We actually lost 1 player as we activated our medical sub so left us 1 player down
It wasn’t the fact we were 1 down was the fact the players we lost were vital to team structure
JDG is a mid/forward who impacts our chances at both the contest and our ability to score directly or indirectly
Howe is our backline general and widely regarded as one of the best intercept marks in the competition
Losing key players during the game didn’t help but for mine we lost it because the coaching staff decided not to move players to stop the turning tide of momentum
If he was all in on Moore as a forward he still had Checkers who could have gone back leaving Cameron forward or Grundy forward
Ideally Moore should have gone back to a defence he was familiar with Checkers stays forward a role he’s familiar with and Cameron could play forward a role he’s done before
Buckley decided to stick to his guns with Moore and ultimately not having a reliable defender to replace Howe left Maynard to play on Darling
Watch the game closely again
West Coast noticed our intention not to move Moore and use Maynard on Darling and sent Darling up field more taking Maynard a experienced defender away from defence isolating Roughhead as the only experienced defender left with Noble IQ & Keane as his support
A smarter move would have been Moore on Allen, Roughead on Kennedy and Keane on Darling leaving Maynard to be play the Howe role leaving his man to help out

Buckley and his stubbornness again proved costly
His inability to adjust during a game has been a issue for a long time
I have been a long time Buckley supporter but I’m out of patience with him
Had we made moves to shore up the defence and try to get the game back on our terms and we lost well at least we tried something but he basically accepted what had happened and shrugged his shoulders

The real damage was done at the contest in the middle
In Q2&3 Pendles Sidey Grundy Sier were completely dominated and West Coast just run rampant
Redden had by memory 10/12 touches in Q2
Pendles looks like a defeated boxer having taken 1 too many punches
He’s basically carried this team on his shoulders since Swan was injured
He looks like he’s just completely spent from it all
With no JDG Elliott helping him out our midfield is devoid of players who can set up play use the ball in a positive manner
Not only are both JDG and Elliott mids who impact the scoreboard but they also create for others and take away oppositions players who have to be accountable in defending them
Watch the game again Sidey was basically running between the arcs without a opponent for 2 quarters. His man impacted the game while he didn’t
This is becoming a trend and has been for 18 months
He’s a ageing player and it shows
His best is behind him (well behind now) and all key stats show it
Career averages v 2021
Tackles career ave 3.9 2021 2 (half of careen ave)
Free kicks for .7 2021 .2 (25% of his average)
Frees against .7 2021 2 (giving away 3 times more frees)
Score involvements 5.7 2021 2.1 (a third basically)
Field kicking eff 61.3% 2021 43% (down by nearly 20%)
Contested possessions 9.9 2021 4.2 (less than half)

And people wonder why we are struggling when our most experienced players in Pendles and Sidey are in serious decline
Refreshing the midfield with some youthful exuberance can’t hurt at a minimum they will bring pressure and learn on the job

We did lose two good players in the game, but I agree with other posters here who have said that the tide was turning before the injuries. We need to fess up to where we are at as a club, not use injuries as a constant reason why we would have won every game otherwise. We scored junk time goals in that game and were soundly beaten. We are 1-4, poorly coached and looking down the barrel of a long year
