As for blooding new talent, Ben Kinnear was on the list for 7 years before winning the best and fairest for Lalor the year after he pulled the pin.

In fact if the succession plan hadn't been announced, 2010 may never have happened because after it was we actually recruited Luke Ball and Darren Jolly after years of bullshit recruits like Chad Rintoul and Chad Morrison. DAMNING STATS - Brisbane actually won the centre clearance count 13-11 and were only five down on clearances overall (30-35).

Because the Coach has been there for 10 years, is clueless, cannot develop players, establish a game plan, identify we have major forward issues etc etc so not sure what else you need to know...

Our defence yet again keeps us in it. They helped keep the Lions to just 67 points in perfect conditions in 120 mins of football before that kick after the siren.

Our forward line and connection between mids and I50 entries continues to be an abomination, and has been for the past decade....

Yep, also my assessment of the game. Comparing the delivery to, and setup around, Daniher and Hipworth to whatever on earth we're trying to do was illuminating.

Pathetic effort by our Team tonight to let this second rate side get so close to us. Heads need to roll over this result. We have lost two out of three games so far this year. Is this the end for Bucks? The Club needs to call a crisis meeting for all Social Club members to vote on what we do now .

It's interesting to look at the ball use by foot.

The 4 leading kick-getters in the game were all Brisbane players (McLuggage, Lyons, Rich, Zorko) - each of them had at least 20 and they had 86 between them. They're all mids and between them they took the ball inside 50 23 times.

The next 4 leading kick-getters on the ground were Collingwood players - Howe, Roughead, Adams and Noble (with 66 kicks, taking the ball inside 50 just 10 times - half those by Adams, of course), followed closely (on our side of the ledger) by Crisp, Pendlebury, Sidebottom and Quaynor. That next 4 took the ball inside 50 11 times.

So, their best 4 kick-getters in a team that was badly beaten at the contest for much of the night took the ball inside 50 23 times and our best 8 kick-getters took the ball inside 50 21 times.

We won the contested possessions by 15. Surprisingly, in the final quarter, when they seemed to be doing everything right and we seemed to be doing most things wrong, we were exactly even on possession percentage (44% each - that is, the ball was in dispute the other 12% of the time) - and even in the last 10 minutes of the last quarter it was 39% apiece. Even so, we just don't seem to have been able to get it into the hands of the people we would prefer to be kicking the ball inside 50, for the most part.
