How many times have we seen the Pies play a game like that? 2018 Grand Final memories.

Our last goal was 18 mins into the final quarter, which was our 10th goal for the game. Our lack of ability to score goals means the opposition team is always going to be in with a chance.

Also like so many other Collingwood games we are relying on the opposition to make mistakes to win the game. In this case Daniher’s missed goal and the rushed behind not that long after. They basically had 3 chances at the end to win the game and nailed one.

Also frustrating is our lack of ability to take advantage of our periods of dominance during the game. The end of the second quarter where they scored 3 goals in a row taking it direct to goal... compare that to the billion possessions it takes for us to score.

We are never going to win a premiership with Buckley. If we don’t cut him loose now we will lose a year persisting with this failed game plan, and loose opportunity to make real changes.

Couldn’t agree more. Throw Madgen in there. Bunch of ordinary footballers.
Buckley is just clueless. Lost count of how many free hit ups they had with no Collingwood player within metres. Happened all night and in fact the last few years. We still guard space. Just dumb football especially with the man on the mark how. Man up for god’s sake.

Just over the Buckley game plan. And get Jaymar there this week and teach Grundy to tap to our players or even grab it and kick it. So many times he tapped it two handed directly in front of him.

If we had no injuries, that is a silver lining.
Brisbane are a class team, they should have been favourites.
I am not kicking and screaming over this result.
Exactly MTTM. It would have been against the odds had we won it and we were really only in it through some individual brilliance (Howie, Daics). Based on the ladder positions of last season, we were the under dogs, yet we got very close. Our boys tried the best.
Mate the Lions had only one change of underwear after being stranded down here. Our players slept in their own beds. Perhaps that's the problem.

I thought our handball was pathetic tonight.

Yes, but I would like someone from our AFL list (preferably a relative newbie) to come in.

Didnt see the game...but those stats are horrible....
How could JDG, playing F50, not lay a single tackle?? Needs to reflect about that performance.
I will watch replay, but if WHE did play a listless game as the commentary here suggests, he should make way for the sub, McCreery next week.

This was a team loss, there are too many moments to pick out, Lions could of sunk us earlier if they kicked straight.

Game was ultimately lost in the 1st half when we were only 8 points up for all our dominance...

This game shows us that its not only hit outs to advantage that wins games, we had loads!!!

Our main problem and has been for years, is fwd 50 connection, our field kicking skills are just not good enough!!

And when the pressure is on, we fall to pieces... we must be mentally tougher!!

He also hit them to disadvantage but they don’t count that.

Had Jamie played tonight we would have won that, i reckon. But, thats just us and injuries to key players. Like if WHE got injured, be a hell of alot less impact than Jamie, but it always happens too our wrong players, not the hacks it seems. Must be some major changes for next week.

Really, give Buckley an extension. He has a plan. Apparently.
