This game will be a good indicator of our season.
To beat a top 8 team from last year without Tarrant, Lockyer, Davis and more than likely (Buckley and Wakelin) will show that we have depth and there will be healthy competition for places in the team.
However if we lose the critics may be proven right in relation to our depth and we may struggle to win the next few games.
As for Didak i want goals at least 5 or 6 on Sunday. I want him lurking around the half forward line. His radar should be tuned in perfectly i hope given that Colonail conditions should be perfect.

The Torres bounce is officially dead. You are walking alone now Fernando.

Collingwood acknowledged yesterday that its captain Nathan Buckley was in doubt for Sunday's clash against Fremantle at Telstra Dome.
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said on last night's Footy Show on Channel Nine that Buckley had a hamstring complaint and would be tested to determine his fitness.
"He's feeling a bit of soreness," McGuire said. "He's more than likely to miss."
Scans have shown Buckley does not have a torn hamstring. The Magpies have named Buckley in their squad to give him the chance to prove his fitness.

The kicks Dids got in the Doggies game were mostly around half back. He has seemed to get stuck around Forward Pocket 1.5 or Half Forward 1.5. ie in loose man territory inside 50 or at about 70, too far out to score or in a strange position regarding Rocca & Tarrant - kind of in the way. His opponents are continually making him earn kicks along the boundary in our forward half, and down back.. well anyone can get a kick loose in the backline.
(FP ---->1/2---->HF)
(HF ---->1/2---->W)
Just so you know what i'm getting at. It could be just perception though. I'm not sure. (No sarcasm intended) I'm not sure if any of this makes sense.

We need to clear the ball from the centre, It's time for Walker
to stand tall as full forward. Didak has to push forward at
every chance. I feel Williams will kick the goals
this week. We get the running game going forward. Ant and Walker
will be hard to match up on. Williams will crumb. Bloody O'Bree
needs to step up and fill the void without Buck's.

If Walker plays full forward i wont hold my breath for us winning.
The forward line needs to consist of Fraser and Rocca along with Dids. Walker is too easily put out of a contest whereas Pebbles and Fraser give second and third efforts.
Lokan and maybe Williams could provide a useful third option along with Guy Richards.

All I can say is that the Magpies need a solid and impressive start i.e: the first 15 miutes of the 1st quarter.
Theres been a continual trend over the last 3 matches except v lion$ where we are trailling by around 3 or 4 goals at quarter time.
A lead of the same would be step in the right direction say Magpies 35 Dockers 12 something like that.
I can remember that we most times in 2002 and more in 2003 start off with a 24 point lead at quarter time half around 20 points , then set it up at 3rd quarter time and lead by 40 points and lock it up and stalling tactics in the last to run out winners by 35. Nice and comfortable right from the start. Thats why the first quarter is so important. I am just want a comrehensive win my tip MAGPIES by 35.

Our depth will be given a big test on Sunday. If Mullins, King, McGough, Williams & Walker (considering that they play) play well and have a hand in a victory, it will shut up some of the doubters. If we lose and some of them fail the test...JLC wrote:This game will be a good indicator of our season.

As for Didak, I've only seen him at half forward & the wing so far.

It's a worry, I will be there and watching with the hope that our rated pick ups turn it on.
Don't forget about Swan. I have never been a huge fan of him, but he stepped up last week and I was impressed with a few of his efforts against the Bears. He looks like he has added weight to his small frame as well.
