Well, discuss away.
This weeks opponent is Freo. It looks like we will be missing Tarrant, and Wakes from last weeks line up. Here is hoping to an improved performance.
I will post a more in depth post later (if that makes sense)

OK people, i am travelling to melbourne this weekend and will see the pies play at the dome for the first time ever.
Is there a cricketers-arms-equivalent at the dome?
Is it true that general admission ticket only gets you access to the top deck?
What sort of beer do they sell there?

Big game as this is a must win given the road ahead. The circumstances leading into the previous encounter were quite different. Collingwood had the emotion of the Bob Rose passing, and Freo had come off a nail biting win over the Brisbane Lions and were playing good football obviously. Hopefully Collingwood will learn a lot from Essendons drubbing of Freo at Colonail as well as the elimination final. Hard physical football is what is required.
Cloke started on Pavlich who lined up at half forward. Will be interesting to see where Pavlich lines up this time and who will get the assigment. Cloke, Presti, Kinnear, Jimmy or even Lonie. Keep Pavlich quiet and the Pies will be on the way to their second victory for the year.
Other key play makers are Bell and Haselby. One would think Brodie takes Bell and Lokan takes Haselby (based on his previous effort). Rogan and Richards will need to be at their best to negate Sandilands and Simmonds. Carr im assuming will take on Bucks but hopefully Bucks will still be at his damaging best.
Down back Johnson and Jimmy will need to be at their best to take on Farmer and Medhurst. Luckily for Presti Freo dont have a tall forward in the same bracket as Lynch, Richo or Rawlings.
Hopefully Licuria can strike form as he has had a poor start to the season. Obree will need to lift and be more damaging with his possessions (and lose that girls headband)
A big ask for Collingwood with Wakelin and Tazza missing but hopefully in front of our home crowd we can get over the line.

The Torres bounce is officially dead. You are walking alone now Fernando.

Need the Sheedy approach for OB's hair.
I believe it was Sheddy who told Solomon (when he had the dreads) get it cut off or the players may cut it for you.
Next day - Sollie had the haircut he wanted.
OB needs to put up as we kept him and let others go.

on watching the willy game on the weekend, i think there are a few players who are pushing for selection against the dockers.
WILLOW - was best on ground and i think will come in, he even kicked reasonably well.
CAM CLOKE - i think even though he did not play much (due to being knocked unconscious), has a good chance, as he presents well and takes a good mark can ruck a bit, but just needs to work on his kicking and without tazza we need another marking forward.
Also without wakes tex might get a game, and it was rather encouraging to see tex not looking lost and reading the play really well. And i think goughy might get a game in the next few weeks he was pretty good all round the ground laid a lot of really good tackles, and what, made me almost faint hit targets by foot!!!!!!
Just wondering if anyone else agrees with me that shaw will not be dropeed because he tried hard against brissie and put his body on the line, but just did not get much game time.

I dont think Shaw will be dropped as Freo have plenty of small forwards that Shaw could match up on and his run that he can provide would be good.
Williams did what a regular senior player should do when they go back to Willi and that is play well. The challenge for Willo is doing that in the seniors.
It would be ridiculous to debut a player the week after they had been knocked unconscious especially when MM brings the youngsters along slowly.
I am in no rush to see Tex back in the seniors. Cloke can assume some responsibility this week and Lonie can be the third tall defender.
Stunner or Kinnear may be in line for a recall or if a smaller player is required then Mullins may get a game.

With regards to Wakelin missing, basically your defence is only as good as your midfield. Therefore I believe that our midfield should be more than strong enough to beat Freo's which should take the pressure off our back line. That's where I believe the game will be won or lost. Need to make sure that Medhurst does not slip under our guard as he does seem to have a habit of kicking about 4 goals now and again and getting under teams guards because of his size. Johnson should be able to handle him. My prediction is the pies by about 4 goals.

Judging by the performances at williamstown on the weekend Mullins, Walker and Williams could be possible inclusions. All three played exceptionally well in their positions. Also Kinnear started to attack the ball like a guy his size should and if Crowe gets elevated to the rookie list due to the long term injury of Davidson there would be a slight chance he could debut this year. People say we dont have a lot of depth, I find that odd with the calibre of guys we have playing for Williamstown.

If a tall is going to be bought in, then Kinnear would be the best choice. Walker still needs time to develop some confidence and i don't think McKee is suited to the senior team. The new ruck rule hurts him plus he cant really play anywhere else because he is slow.
I reckon:
In: Kinnear, Williams
Out: Tarrant, Wakelin
