Let me say firstly that it's true that , he has come a long way this year as acknowledged by the All Australian award.
However is it just me that rues his kicking disposal?
It often is errant and comes back to haunt him.
I don't know why he takes the kick outs most of the time. I know Quaynor is young and inexperienced but his disposal is mostly spot on.
What are other people's thoughts?

This is something that has been bugging me for awhile.

Agree agree agree. He kicks it thin, no height, low penetration and often in a risky way. Maynard should never kick in. Give the task to Quaynor.

I have no problem with Maynard or Moore kicking for distance and ultimately achieving a 50 / 50 contest close to the wing.
If the plan is to go short first, then as of next season, I would be happy to see Quaynor be given more responsibility.
The thing to remember is that kicking plans will likely change depending on the state of the game, which is part of the reason why different players now take the kick out.
There’s a player on the outer at Brisbane, Alex Witherdon, who was the best kick out I had seen from the last couple years. Always got the job and “ never “ missed a target. Having said that, he obviously has a few other areas he needs to work on at the moment.

Do you remember the year Leon Davis kicked out truly, what was it, 75 times in one season.

Leon was brilliant at that role. Heath Shaw was pretty good too.
We need to remember zones defence has certainly tightened up since Neons glory days but he would still easily be our best option compared to rest of our defenders. Easily !

You are right but I’m pissed off at his decision to let the team down very badly. He made an already difficult situation far worse. Didn’t help the team.

We need to develop a new midfield brigade. Rotate Sier and McInnes and De Goey Adams, Tyler Brown out of the guts.

Sidey as a crumbing forward- delist/Trade Josh Thomas.

Play Pendles as a playmaker off half back.

Daicos on one wing, Treloar on the other.

Recruit Brayden Pruess from Melbourne with the explicit instruction to rough up/tenderize Brodie's opponents and throw his weight around in marking contests. Cameron is ineffectual at the 'less delicate arts' any imposing bigman must have in his armoury

Yes WL it certainly is the midfield.
Grundy I don't know.
Might be better with Cox in there.
Trouble is Grundy can't play any other position ...where Cox can.
No one is going to take over or trade for Grundy now.
I still don't know why Grundy doesn't smash the ball forward.
Seriously the centre tap outs to the opposition is mind blowing

Completely agree. This was not based on one game. He has never been a really good kick thats why he is not a forward. Great mark but his kicking is not dependable. I am surprised that people haven't noticed this. Usually Howie would take kick outs but without him, the responsibility has gone to him , more and Moore.. Haha..

Hey Dave , not one poor game. Everyone had a poor game. Just an observation about his kicking which has not changed over the years. Thats why he is not a forward. No penetration and sometimes make poor choices.

His kicking is always going to suspect but he also seemed to lose the gluey hands towards the end of the season and was fumbling marks that he'd normally take (Qld dewy conditions notwithstanding). Then he caught brain fart disorder from Maynard in the latter stages of the season too

I'd argue that the big punch forward amounts to a hail mary with a roulette outcome. A great team will own the center bounces and that's worth striving for.
The one thing I'd like to see is quick play on the kick in. Waiting on structures seems to be wasting opportunity and not trusting your players. Whats the point of employing good decision makers if you don't trust them?
