A Clean sweep and look forward to next year. Seriously, we need to recruit some ready made players and get rid of the clutter that we have. A fair few need to <snip> off! A little harsh but it's true. So sick of this shit.

You can't just pick on 2 or 3 players, the whole team needs a kick up the ass. Whether Tarrant and Wakelin were injured doesn't matter, if one player is lost, other guys need to step up to cover them. Once again we were two different sides in each half, we played some good footy in the first half but the second was just a replay of last year. Theres no excuse for dropping your head while the opposition just boots a string of goals in a row. The orange maggots certainly didn't help matters but it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game.

Rubbish.

No surprises tonight. It was always an unwinnable game at this stage of the year.

I thought it was a pretty good hitout for nearly half a game. They'll be better for the run, you can be sure of that.

Just a few injury worries ... particularly Tarrant. Without him our forward set up is a basket case.

We need him back for next week. We need to win just to keep in touch until our form returns.

At the moment we're relying on too few. Burns was great again. Wakelin was doing well until he got thugged out of it.

Expect Brisbane to be a little bit undermanned next week by the time the tribunal is finished with them.

If Brown or White play next week there will have to be a royal commission.

I'd suggest we don't get too depressed over it. Seriously, did anyone expect any different?

We got rid and lost a few players last year and who did we recruit..... young kids, that's who! We have no players to stand up coz all our players are basically kids!

What are we gonna do when Buckley and Burns leave?????

I hate to say it, but our team is looking like Carlton's was last year. A bunch of young, inexperienced kids who cop a thrashing.

Our finals dreams this year are kapoot! We need to RECRUIT big time next year! And not just these young kids.....

Lynch should get 2 weeks at least! What a fkn dickhead! I hate him!!!!!! We lost the 2002 grand final coz we lost Cloke to the same stupid decision!!!!!!!!! If he was there, we would of won!

And that Jonathan Brown thinks he is top s**t. He basically waltzes around the ground and when he gets a mark or a kick he puffs out his chest like he is their god! What a wanker!!!!!

And what about that idiot Leppitsch! He is definately winning an oscar this year! He was barely touched, yet he threw his body like he'd been pushed and was granted a free kick! It was 10 times worse then that stupid ad for Origin Energy where that guy acts like Buckley ran into him and tripped him over, even though Bucks was like 5 metres away!!!!!!!

I'm so mad! I hate umpires! I hate Brisbane! I hate Lynch, Akermanis, Voss, Brown, and Leppitsch! I hate Leigh Matthews! I hate everything!

Congrats to O'Bree and Burns though, you guys played great. And also to Richards, Lokan and Swan who also played great.

Love always, Alyssa xoxo

a thumping as expected, but one highlight was dane swan. I like the look of this kid. He has a go, unlike a few others. But we'll get better. Besides, how can you argue with a team that can afford to put the likes of Darryl white, Chris Johnson and justin leppitsch into the backline? Way too god on the night.

CQ what I meant to say was that it SHOULDN"T make a difference between possible victory and getting flogged by 60 points. These were comments made after the game that if one or two key position players are out, the team falls over.

Well that went well. Textbook stuff, they got paid everything from the umps, we got nothing (where and when it counted). Lokan will get pinged for hitting white's foot with his hip, and Wakelin for hitting brown's fist with his head will cost him at least two weeks.

Losing Wakes, Taz, Ant for a bit and Jimmy late in the game doesn't do a great deal for the game plan. Seriously, they (brissy) are an awesome side (AFL sanctioned cheating or otherwise), 10 goals will be their average winning margin at the Gabba.

What annoyed me the most from this game was not the way we played, but how their supporters booed Bux whenever he got the ball, uneducated idiots.

The dockers next week. Please stick up a pre-match now, before it gets ugly in here.

Alternate Player Review:

Buckley: 4/10 - Possibly the worst I've ever seen the great man play? Kicked to no-one.

Burns: 8/10 - No worries.

Woewodin: 4/10 - Mostly unsighted.

Lonie: 2/10 - Don't know what to say.

Didak: 3/10 - Couldn't get into the game. Hello Dids, everyone knows you play on, just though i'd tell you because you seem to be the last to know. Please Mick play this guy in the midfield, its time.

Holland: 6/10 - Tried hard all night with limited success.

Clement: 2/10 - As bad as Lonie. Lost.

O'Bree: 4/10 - Does more stupid than good things.

Cole: 0/10 - Zip.

Wakelin: 7/10 - Excellent before and after semi-concussed. We were shafted we he didn't come back on.

Nixon: 0/10 - Hard to get a kick against the Lions.

Licuria: 3/10 - Injured? Underdone? Run his race? Hope not. Very important.

Tarrant: 2/10 - 9 minutes and twang. I would twang too if i made a 120m lead.

Richards: 6/10 - Fair enough. Slowed their clearances for a while.

Shaw: 2/10 - Threw himself into the fray, plenty o' benchtime though.

Rocca: 5/10 - Couple of nice goals. Underdone like sushi.

Fraser: 5/10 - Tried hard. Still going to ground too much.

Johnson: 4/10 - Back to the unskilled days.

Lokan: 7/10 - Streets better than Betheras. Can run, jump and kick long distances just to name a few reasons why. Had a crack at White which was nice too. Get him up there and retire O'Bree from the midfield and play bloody Didak there.

Cloke: ?/10 - Should have played more. Should not have been benched. Provided a hard contest everytime he got near it. Maybe he has to do a Holland and go to the coach (without his #$#$ dad) and say look coach, sir, i need to play back pocket or back flank or CHF - leave me there and i will tighten up. My tip is this kid will eventually come good, or will ask to be traded to Richmond - he will never be traded or delisted methinks. Malthouse may have saved his career you know - had he played all this time as a backman and got caned and shown up for being loose or slow - his career could have been finished already. At least in peoples minds there is this excuse "Mick has been playing him out of position..."

Prestigiacomo: 1/10 - Beaten shitless. Never dropped his head though. However opposition teams have figured him out - kick to a leading full forward and he's #$#$# until he gets fitter.

Swan: 6/10 - Didn't think he had it. He has it. The future.
Get back on top.

thats the worst game i have seen. in the 1st half i thought we had a chance then in the 2nd half when brisbane kicked the early goals i was thinking oh no here we go again. but for sum reason i was hoping for a pies come back which didnt happen. cloke is a back man not a forward i dont know why mm plays him up forward. lokan swan holland burns all did well i mite have forgotten some but yea.

the highlight of the nite was when the goal umpire gave brisbane a goal when it missed the goal post by a fair margin. lynch has to get reported for his whack on wakes.

james hird was right with what he said now the umpires where shocking for godness sake umpires let the footy flow not stop start all the time

Some observations

Post by lethalburns »

- Ryan Lonie has no defensive instinct, yet he is talented. He should be a medium forward or put out to run on a wing.

- Twice Malthouse has played Brodie on aka only to have the blonde freak run all over us due to loose checking. Ben Johnson has been far more effective on him.

- Why put our best midfielder for the game in the forward line during the prem quarter?

- Why put your Brownlow/Norm Smith medalist on the bench when he is more than capable of being swung into a weak forward line or as a sweeper in defense?

- Why dont we always drop an extra man back vs these top heavy thugs?

- Cloke being experimented with far too much. He is not a naturally capable footballer, yet he is tough. Teach him to play well defensively as a CHB or get on the phone to the Tigers for a tri-cloke swap over deal.

- My big question.... WHY when the ruckman is constantly punching forward do ALL of our midfielders stand on the attacking side of their opponent? The result is us being split down the spine like an auskick team.

Some positives drawn amongst it all :

- Showed that we are still capable whilst we maintain certain key positions.

- Lokan was finally played in the position he was groomed for and performed.

- Richards showed a lot more than expected and may cement senior spot.
No more slide show Mckee.

- Swany's footskill and composure was very promising

- Shaw made every effort to put his body on the line and did not fumble once. Only suspect move was a rushed kick out of defense.

- Endurance dropped away quickly. Only time will tell if the delayed fitness strategy works.
