No, Geelong ran us ragged. Credit to them. Watch them next week, they won’t be as zippy and will flood more. At 3 qtr time Cats players were bent over gasping for breath, so clearly they didn’t have an easy stroll regardless of the scoreboard. They’ll feel it next week

I am startled by all the rancour against Grundy.you cannot fluke the form he has had over the last 2 years.
He was clearly mismanaged this year.
Again, i think it reflects a lack of confidence and stultifying lack of imagination -and care- from our coaches and selectors. They were clearly too scared and unimaginative to find a way to rest Grundy at some stage.

It wasn’t just non ruckman Hawkins that was able to rag doll and embarrass him deep in Geelong’s forward line. In last year’s prelim against GWS, the skinny Jeremy Finlayson did it to him twice.

Certainly they totally outclassed us in terms of their game plan and psychological preparation. But to simply say they ran us ragged begs the question. How did they have so much extra power and strength to run us ragged?

If there's a bright side, it's that a team can't lose a final like that and just roll into the off season looking forward to next year. It forces everyone to have a hard look at where we're at and that's something we really need to do.

If we'd lost by five points it'd be too easy to think that we were unlucky and on the right path. Being smashed like this is going to light a fire underneath everyone.

I was worried about this game after last week and backing up from Perth but surely in a final you come out all guns blazing and if you get worn down well then you accept it, but you can’t accept it when you get flogged from the start....

Bucks saying speaking to some players in the second qtr he got the impression they’d given up. He obviously spoke to them so it’s up to the players to respond, but once they had their sights on losing and thinking about holidays it’s hard for a coach to do much else.

Did he say that publicly? Because if he did, that is just contemptible. A coach needs to defend his players in the public arena. If he felt they gave up, you need to discuss that with them, in the club, behind closed doors.
