What the local papers say.

From The Mail - Weds 31 March

Gulls squawk at talk of 2003 hangover

EXPECT a crackerjack season opener, Williamstown fans.

The reigning premiers play arch rival Werribee at Chirnside Park this Sunday.

There is a real buzz in the air.

There is absolutely no chance of a hangover causing a lapse in focus among the Seagulls.

Hunger for success burns in the eyes of co-captains Troy West and Brad Lloyd and their teammates.

Lloyd delivered an inspirational speech at the club's induction of Collingwood-listed players at the Sun Theatre in Yarraville early last week.

He urged Magpie youngsters like Brayden Shaw to "play with passion and courage and never surrender your spirit no matter the circumstances" every time they "play in the gold sash of the mighty Seagulls".

Collingwood stars Anthony Rocca and Paul Licuria attended.

Coach Brad Gotch is confident his side will be able to cover the losses of centreman Adrian Fletcher and half-forward Josh Mahoney. Full-forward Marcus Balswin shapes as a real key.

I heard it too. In fact, I read about it in the local paper. What day was it? 01/04/04.

'Nuff said.
