Watching tonights episode in Ethiopia. First one tribe then another.

Wow, fkn brutal.

First tribe, the stick fighting. Naked. Seeing what those sticks did to a head, arm or leg, i was squirming thinking how a shot to the dick would feel.

Then the second, shooting cattle in the neck (non lethal) to drain blood then drinking it, and the boy becomes man ceremony where he jumps bulls and his sisters get whipped.

And David, each hut has a fence around it to contain their livestock.

That whipping was brutal, those green sticks did some serious damage. The guys put little effort into it, it was the woman who pushed it.

I got the concept of mutual obligation, they get whipped for him, he becomes a man after the bull jump, he can then marry etc but is obliged to provide for his sisters who got whipped for him.

But seriously.................Wow.

Best part of this time of year, all the CW DC superhero series drop on Foxtel and Netflix.

Watched the first episode of Batwoman last night. Ruby Rose is the star as the first openly lesbian superhero. There's been a few Lesbian characters (and one intersex) in the CW, but this is a first.

And the series looks great. I love ruby rose in the role, looking forward to the rest. Set up series record for multiple shows last night. Batwoman, Supergirl, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing..........

Mayans is no SOA, but it’s not bad! Got to love a show with good bad guys and bad good guys, a few good good guys, and so really bad bad guys! Plenty of rippling 6 packs helps too!

A Chinese psychological crime thriller series on Netflix: Burning Ice

Friggin terrific writing and acting. The cinematography & music enhance this enthralling series. That and the one noted above that is, Stranger from South Korea are rippers.

For the BREAKING BAD fans, still the best series ever IMO!!

El Camino tells the story of what happens after Jessie Pinkman drives off that night...., its 2 hours and its brilliant, not what you expect, but then, everything youd expect!
really well done, but now, i want more!!!!

2nd episode of Batwoman down, yeah, Ruby Rose is brilliant. Enjoying the show.

2 of the new CW shows are Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing. Really fringe comic books, never big deals, enjoyed both pilots. Actually loved Doom Patrol, there's clearly no template they run over these, every show has it's own character.

Not a TV series but Mrs WPT & I saw this South Korean Film "Forgotten" a film on Netflix tonight: Friggin suspenseful, anxiety provoking and more twists than a Rastafarians dreadlocks. Well worth the watch.

How do writers think up these stories? FMD

The Expanse on Amazon Prime is brilliant sci fi. Instead of watching the "Previously on ..." recap I re-watched the first 3 seasons, don't regret it all

Asylum City on SBS. Israeli series. Crime. Police. Politics.

Tightly written, well acted, each episode only goes for 40 or so minutes. They’ve nailed the politics really well.
