To most people, it suggested he was a bit of lad, nothing more!
In Drumpfs case both the and the Rule of Law and National Security of the US are under attack!
Not exactly a charge that 70% of Americans are going to thank him for!

I also thought the Clinton impeachment was nonsense, but it was a disgrace that the multiple rape and sexual harassment allegations were allowed to be swept under the carpet. Not sure I'd describe a (likely) serial sex offender as 'a bit of a lad'; whether the American public perceived him that way is another question. Anyway, my point is that I think the Trump impeachment is also going to look to most people like a lot of hot air, and may well have a similar effect on his popularity.

There seems to be quite a few of his otherwise "natural" allies that are against him (in terms of his quite applling actions of using his office for personal political gain)so I'm not too sure if it's quite the same.David wrote:I also thought the Clinton impeachment was nonsense, but it was a disgrace that the multiple rape and sexual harassment allegations were allowed to be swept under the carpet. Trump won't face an impeachment as such but the evidence is mounting and his avoidance of his personal tax disclosure may well come back to bite him on the bum.
At the end of the day, if enough people are motivated (and allowed) to vote then he will hopefully be a one-term president which for the sane part of the world is one term too many.

Article from 2017. Another nothing burger.
Not sure about tying your cart to a serial rapist and pedophile like William Jefferson Clinton, it would take total denial and delusion to hold that man in anything other than contempt. Even most Democrats have cut him loose. Trump putting his accusers center stage during a debate with Hillary was a masterstroke.

How anyone can have so much emotional investment in a corrupt and self serving organisation like the US Democratic party is beyond me. In the world of US politics, both sides are pretty shit. Trump came along to shake things up and the anger and rage he creates in the liberal left is hilarious.
Of course the guy is a crook, he made his fortune in New York real estate where dealing with mob (Jewish and Italian) backed unions is the only way to get the job done. He's a narcissist and has a thin skin, but compared to the alternative he was Ghandi. Even if he loses the next election (This impeachment nonsense is going nowhere, it's sole purpose is to discredit Trump in the lead up to 2020), he saved the world from Hillary Clinton and even the most staunch leftist/progressive should thank him for that.

5 face to face meetings with Putin and no one knows what they talked about* ! You would think that these "important meetings" would be working to some kind of agreement like arms limitation, trade deals the Middle East or ensuring Russia doesn't meddle in US elections again but nothing! 5 meetings and Not even the State Department and not anyone inside the Drump White-House is admitting they knew what was being discussed. Seriously?

I wonder what they want to talk about? Putin probibly wants to give him a medal (and terrific hotel deal) for handing over the middle-east with barely a wimper!

*In the interest of being totally forth-right, there was a US translator in attendance at one of the meetings but Trump took her notes before she left the room and made her swear to official secrets act.
