Why? So the fat assed bastard Corporates, AFL Gold Members & MCC Members who do not support the 2 teams in the GF get to attend & I as a COLL Member got to sit out?
So you bemoan tickets going to corporates but you are happy taking free tickets from the corporates (and in the process becoming one of those you are supposedly taking a stand against). Mmmm….

It has become a corrupt & rigged competition, this is what I was initially referring to. By giving the AFL money (to me) means you're happy with the status quo.

As the old saying goes, money talks, bullshit walks.
I voted with my feet in the end as I wasn't happy.

No doubt every COLL supporter would be disappointed/angry/ashamed *insert any emotion you like here* in yesterdays loss, regardless whether they paid to attend live, watched it on free to air TV or listened in on the net from New York.

Ahhh, but the difference is, I only attend COLL games, I would never attend a GF or any game that COLL isn't a part of.
If I really want to, I can get a ticket for next weeks GF, sell it & make a mint but that to me is wrong, RICH & GWS supporters should have first dibs, any leftovers then by all means.

7 News right now... goal review almost cost GWS a spot in the GF. NO MENTION at all of Grundy getting shoved in the back, and they're not showing Bucks talking about it either. It's all "GWS were almost robbed." FFS.

It is slightly exhausting. We review one facet of the game. How about reviewing the finlayson above. Afl says yes Grundy was infringed and so free kick to Collingwood actually reverse that and they win. Still waiting for that headline

Yep, and the same idiots are listing the missing giants and talking them up because of it. Never mind we also had key players missing and don't a plethora of first round picks as depth.

That's why we lost. The umpiring! Damn! Why didn't I think of that?

Umpires have to make split-second decisions and they don't always get it right.
The ARC on the other hand has the benefit of slow motion, replays, zooming in and so on.

It's ridiculous to compare the push in the back to Grundy, with JT's goal which was touched.

Ball gets thrown in; 3 umpires what are you watching? Just like the none-50 to Hoskin Elliott. What are the umpires watching? Or said another way so you think they wouldn’t have been paid against us.

Are you kidding? It was a stoppage. Three umpires and the boundary were all there specifically watching Grundy and Finlayson ruck. I saw it from the other end of the ground, and I'm blind as a bat.

Umpiring at todays game

Post by orie »

I felt that we did get a few good ones our way early the first quarter. Bombers fans are pretty pissed with the umpiring ....
I think that we took our chance with our shots on goal and that was what kept us alive..
Well fought out by the boys , even when they got behind..

Has been inconsistent [at our expense] for the first 6 rounds of 2022, no question.

It was 7-1 early in our favour, was 17-9 against us late in the game...

We got a few late to even up the count.

But whilst we got some shockers our way, the Bombers got a few more, it was simply a horribly umpired game and something a few of my umpiring mates agree with.

No22 is without doubt the worst umpire in the AFL and yet we seem to get him a lot. But it's hard to know where ANZAC Day sits these days with the Umpiring appointments. It's a big game but it's also 2 bottom 4 teams so it's a balancing act between the showcase event and being the least important game.

Umpiring was ordinary and inconsistent but had no impact on the result

One thing in life I can guarantee, and that is Essendon always believe they get a rough run with the umps.

Every single week I hear about it.
