#30 Darcy Moore

Rudey, its looking like instead of people accusing Moore of being a nutcase and that its "in his head", maybe we should be praising him for his developing understanding of what his body can and cant cope with!!!!!RudeBoy wrote:Sorry E, but i think you are wrong on both counts.
There is no evidence or even a suggestion that Moore's decision to leave the ground in the last quarter of the Bumbers game was pre-planned. This was clear the next day when Bucks - before scans cleared Darcy of any injury - expressed grave concerns that Darcy had been unable to see out the game. Darcy left the field of his own volition because he was feeling hamstring tightness coming on and was fearful of another injury. It was purely precautionary on his part.
Bucks has said that as long as Darcy completes all the training - no different from anyone else - before our first final, then he will definitely play. End of story. Seriously, there's no need for anyone to try to twist this into something it's not.
He seems to have managed his body (including by asking out of games where he has felt like he is in danger of more serious injury) and has now put himself into a preliminary final and played a MONSTER of a qualifying final.
Well done Darcy. Keep ignoring the noise my friend.

Yeah, huge performance. His muscle/strength conditioning is up, too; wait until that starts to show in one-on-ones.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Revisiting Darcy Moore
I was having a conversation with a couple mates today about young KPPs and recalled several articles from a few years back that posed the question - who was the best young KPP prospect (I think it mainly referred to KPF). In those conversations were Moore, Daniher, Hogan, Boyd and Patton - a veritable plethora of talent that has spent more time out of the game than in it since those discussions.
The following were a couple of the articles I found on a quick google search (there are plenty more with differing ranking orders, but you'll get the idea).
https://www.3aw.com.au/richo-picks-hoga ... 16-gnkt8a/
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2016/03/15/ ... y-be-best/
https://www.zerohanger.com/david-schwar ... rds-10318/
Revisiting the notion paints a fairly grim forecast for top end draft talented talls.
The question has been raised here about pursuing a KPP via draft vs trade/FA/RFA. Given the uncertainties of draft outcome (both injury/mental health and development), it would seem prudent to pursue the established player route... there are costs involved to be sure and getting a top end KPF costs plenty ($$$s/trade capital), perhaps looking at a player not receiving that many opportunities for whatever reason, who has shown capable at the top level in limited showings may be the best option... (note - this is not a post advocating for the club to pursue Peter Wright)
It's an interesting time capsule showing how a group of young players, once viewed as the future stars of club and AFL have panned out...
For the record, and with the benefit of hindsight, I declare Moore the best (it was touch and go with his soft tissue injuries).[/url]
