Did Collingwood plan to take him off against Essendon? Surely not. There was a game to be won.
If he's fit, he clearly plays. But is he 110% fit? I have my doubts.
People! Relax. Hammies are about 500% more likely to occur when muscle is fatigued. that tends to occur at the end of quarters and at the end of the match.
If its true that he didnt ice the hammie, then either (i) he is done and talk of him playing is just a ruse to throw off the cat's gameday planning, or (ii) he is fine and it was always the pan to manage his hammy and ensure he got a light run without fatigue.
If he runs out in a week's time, we'll know the answer.
Sorry E, but i think you are wrong on both counts.
There is no evidence or even a suggestion that Moore's decision to leave the ground in the last quarter of the Bumbers game was pre-planned. This was clear the next day when Bucks - before scans cleared Darcy of any injury - expressed grave concerns that Darcy had been unable to see out the game. Darcy left the field of his own volition because he was feeling hamstring tightness coming on and was fearful of another injury. It was purely precautionary on his part.
Bucks has said that as long as Darcy completes all the training - no different from anyone else - before our first final, then he will definitely play. End of story. Seriously, there's no need for anyone to try to twist this into something it's not.
It'll be on his head is he plays. Hope he can get through without any worries. But, if Darcy decides to come of in the first quarter with "hamstring awareness" I say send him back out there and if he pings it, tough luck!

After all his soft tissue injuries, Darcy clearly has a heightened level of awareness and can feel if something is becoming NQR.
He took himself off the ground and the doctor decided to keep him off, so it clearly wasn't just in his head.
Scans show no damage so he can train for 2 weeks, along with all the required strength and conditioning exercise and physio work so he'll be right for the first final.
If, in the last quarter of the first final, he comes off with hamstring awareness, you make the call based on state of play. Win the first final he has a week off to get right for the prelim, send him back out when you don't need to, he pings it, he's gone for the year.
What he adds when on the field is worth treating him with kid gloves. if he played in last years GF, we win.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
Longevity of the game and critical events like Sydney game where Roughead shut Buddy out whilst Sam Reid belted Magden to tune of 4 goals before they swung Roughead over to quite him and held then to one
OK it us v Tigers and Moore holding Lynch and Roughead likewise with Riewoldt
Moore goes off mid third qtr and Lynch does a Sam Reid
My point is that is he a full game player (apart from general knocks)
We I suspect have to roll the dice. “Boldness be our Friend

Playing both Moore and Reid increases risk of either one going down, but it also means if one does go down the other one is an option to plug any hole such as the Lynch situation you describe. Eg in your scenario, Moore goes down, Reid could be swung back to cover Lynch (they do keep calling him a swingman) with Roughie still on Reiwoldt, and the forward line goes to the short dynamic option with degoey, stevo, Elliot, miho, the hyphen etc - ie still an extremely menacing forward line.
A strong defence is crucial to win finals, so to my way of thinking, that means Roughead should play in defence along with Moore. Assuming he is fit, that would open up a spot for Reid as our tall forward and relieving ruckman. There are obviously some risks associated with playing both Moore and Reid, given their propensities to succumb to soft tissue leg injuries, but given we have the double chance, now is the time to take that risk imo. If it works, it could set us up for a Premiership.
